Why are system status items so slow to respond?
Skitch always takes a little while to respond after I haven't used it for a while. I acknowledge that it's not alone - all LSUIElement applications that live as system status items seem to be a little slow off the mark (including my own - Hyperspaces), however I wonder if it's just me?
Is anyone else seeing really slow responses when activating skitch? This happens whenever the machine has a couple of apps open - not under heavy load. I'm running on a 2.5Ghz MacBook Pro (Santa Rosa Series) with 2Gb RAM and a 7200 rpm drive.

Inappropriate?I've never seen this.. but then again I use Skitch all the time. I think it's simply a side effect of OS X putting innactive applications to the side, from a memory usage standpoint.

Inappropriate?Yeah, possibly - it could be the way I'm rendering my status item view as well, but it seems to affect most apps that do their own drawing.
Thanks for responding ;)
I’m thankful
