Inappropriate?please provide an access button to post as "anonymou"s after you sign up for an account. Otherwise, awesome job so far!!

Hi Musicman73, sometime today we should have a tool for Platial members to 'remove' a device from their account, but I'm not sure that's exactly what you are asking for. Can you describe your request a bit more specifically? You want to keep the device connected to an account, be able to see your own stuff, but post as 'username' or 'anonymous' post by post? -
Inappropriate?Run Nearby. Tap the search icon. Enter "123 sw foo portland or" into the search field and tap the search button. Nearby crashes (you return to the home screen). Same results entering my actual home address.

Inappropriate?ok so I am in Australia and the 3g has no problem finding me but it does not pin point my location the naviagator located me a few kilometers (miles) away from where I actually was. Another bug is that I cannot edit or remove some of the places I have added, which is a bit off putting because I want to be accurate with the info I put in.
I’m unsure

Hi mcgregor,
Regarding the edit/delete issue: you are right, we totally fail to expose the fact that if you merge your device to a Platial account, you will gain full editing permissions over all your content (all the places added as an anonymous user will be ported over to the new account as well, so you won't lose anything). Granted, this approach is more of a work around than a real solution (editing/deleting will come for anonymous users soon), but it can help if you want a right now fix.
To merge your device to a Platial account, tap the little (i) tool in the lower right corner of the map, you will see a 'merge' button, you can create a new account, or merge to an existing one.

Re: the accuracy of the location detection, we are not doing that detection ourselves, but are simply asking the iPhone's "core location" for that information. I suspect that the same low level of accuracy will show up in the regular built in Maps application. I have myself seen some very very wrong location detection as well, not just miles off, but hundreds of miles off.
If you do see a difference between the location in Nearby and the location in Maps, I'd be very interested to hear more about it.
Thanks for the feedback. -
Inappropriate?cool idea, but...
-- hitting the thumbtacks and getting them to open was really hard (map moved more often than I got the thumbtack).
--1 thumbtack I opened said "Disco" for the exit driveway of a nearby apt complex. Huh?
- 2 others had 3 posts, numbers like 12333, then the note just had a girls name.
- when I tried to see others, it kept on zooming out, even though I was doing the "zoom in" motion
so in my 5 minutes of frustration, I'd say it's too buggy/irrelevant to be of much use--though the idea sounds cool

Inappropriate? The iphone app is very slow in hybrid view. When I tried to add a marker, it crashed when I went to take a photo. It does seem to work better in street view.
