I can't close the map
Hello,
we use a platial map in a project and this project has finished. Now, we need to close this map but is not possible! We can close/open another map created later but in the first we can't edit or enter to settings!
Why? any solution?
the platial map in question is:
http://platial.com/map/Una-ciudad-un-...
Thanks.

Inappropriate?Hi bib,
If you are logged in, and add "/edit" to the end of that map URL, do you have editing ability?
If yes, you can change the map to "closed" by allowing "only you" to add new places, or you can fully delete the map if that is what is desired. (note: your map may be embedded on other people's sites, deleting is generally used when the content should not be available on the web any more.) "Closing" the map is a good way to maintain the data, but not let it grow any more. -
When i'm logged in and add the "/edit" it doesn't charge the
settings page and shows a white screen. -
What *is* the procedure for deleting a map? I have looked and looked and can't find a way to delete a map. This is important, as I inadvertently have information up that a friend would rather not be public. -
How to delete a map (Important: deleting a map does not delete the places on the map.)
1. Log in at platial.com
2. Select "My Maps" from the "My Platial" menu (in the upper right corner of the platial map interface).
3. Click the name of the map you want to delete, all of your maps should be listed under the 'Your Maps' heading. Alternatively you could click on the 'Settings' text link under the name of the map you want to delete. I'm going to assume you've clicked on the name itself.
4. You're looking for the 'Map Details' panel. if it doesn't open automatically when the map loads, you can access it from the 'Map Details' link under the map name in the top left corner of the platial interface (To the right of the user icon).
5. Look for 'Edit' in the row of icons that appear under the Map Stats block. The icon is a pencil. Click it.
6. A new panel should appear titled "Make a New Map". (Note: If you had selected the settings link under the map name on the My Maps page you would have jumped directly to this point.)
7. Scroll down to the bottom of the panel and you should see a text link which reads 'Click here to delete this Map'.
8. Confirm that you want to delete the map when prompted.
9. That should do it. -
There you go, Rob beat me to it. -
Inappropriate?I'll have someone take a look at this issue.
While we are in there, would you like us to change it a 'closed' map for you? -
Inappropriate?Actually, bib, if you want us to make the change for you, you will have to send a request through the Platial message system , you can send one directly to me (while logged in) from http://platial.com/jason/contact
I'm now realizing that this may simply be a login bug, which we are working on. (Sometimes, the site just decides to log people out, seemingly at random) -
Inappropriate? The bug is that editing settings on custom category maps is not working. I will contact you when it is fixed if you would like. Just send me an email to tracy at platial dot com.
I’m sorry for the confusion
-
Inappropriate? We got the fix out for editing descriptions, titles, and starting locations and deleting maps with custom categories. We're working on finishing the fix for editing the custom map category names and colors.
