Seeking iPhone Beta Testers for Nearby
Seeking Beta testers who are running iPhone OS 2.0, have iTunes 7.7 and want to help bring Platial to the iPhone in a big way.
We have limited number of provisioning profiles to share with people willing to really put this app to the test. Send me your iPhone's unique id (if you click on the "serial number" label in iTunes for the device, it will toggle to show the unique identifier, then double click the id (it won't look like it's highlighted, but it is copyable), along with a short intro (if you are a developer, a current Platial member, have done QA or beta testing before, where you live, etc), and I'll send you the app. (be sure to include email address).
Thanks!

Inappropriate?even though the app is out in the store, we are still looking for people to help us test out new features, new versions, bleeding edge stuff, yknow?
I’m beta
-
Inappropriate?I'd happily BETA test for you but I'm afraid I have no experience in testing.
-
it's mostly for collecting as many crash logs from diverse contexts as we can. We are still actually working on the networked crash logger, and getting ad hoc up and running. I'll ping you in a day or two, and we can see if we can get a debug version running on your phone. sound cool? -
Inappropriate?Sounds fine to me.
-
Inappropriate?i would love to beta heck I cant even get it to find my location.... hopefully something to do with my network as opposed to being in canada.
-
actually, that is a good question about the international db of triangulation and wifi locations.
I'll ping you once we have ad hoc ready to roll. -
does your location work in the default Maps application? -
Inappropriate?i will do it. Live in california, current Platial account, never beta tested but travel quite a bit so could test in various cities.

cool, testing is easy, just need to give plenty of contextual info when there are problems.
As you might have seen in the other comments, I'm still getting the ad hoc system rolling, then will be back in touch (i guess through this commenting mechanism) -
Inappropriate?just did a phone reboot and the app asked to use my location and returned my position moments later over 3G
I’m happy
-
great, that is good news, we haven't started testing on the new phones yet, but I have heard a few murmurs of unstable location querying (needs occasional rebooting like you did). -
Inappropriate?I would still love to beta and will send you my information when I get to a machine in which I can copy and paste
-
Inappropriate?ok I'm back at a puter who can I email my deets too?

Inappropriate?there is a great tool in the appstore that makes this whole ad hoc process a bit easier, i suggest using it to get the unique id of your device.
The tool is Ad Hoc Helper.
I’m stoked on ad hoc helper
-
Inappropriate?ok cool :) do we have an address to email the details? Or are we safe posting them up on here...
-
