Problems with "not following"

I am unable to "not follow" someone's plurks. It is only a problem with one user-- I have succesfully :not followed" others. In the end I had to unfriend the guy which was not my intention

yes, I removed then re-aded him as a friend, refreshed, logged out then in, etc...
