amarok feed problem
The feeds in amarok never are updated correctly. I do not receive any new episodes after the first time I load the feed.
The episodes available at that time are shown. But new episodes are not shown. In iTunes all available episodes are shown. I'm using Amarok 1.4.8. I have tried on different distros (ubuntu and gentoo). Any ideas what I have to do to fix this? Thanks

Inappropriate?I've never even heard of Amarok. If any Ubunto or Gentoo (yet another thing I know nothing about) gurus are out there, see if you can help out Curantil!

Inappropriate?I have the same problem using Amarok 1.4.9.1 on RHEL. Don't have this problem with other feeds, however since the feed works in other podcatchers (iTunes) I'm not sure who to blame
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?True. iTunes and other podcatchers work for me too. The problem is probably with amarok, but it is the podiobook feeds are the only feeds that have that problem for me.

Inappropriate? It's probably something we have formatted strange that Amarok doesn't like. Trouble is, since our feeds validate, they seem to be following proper compliance. Maybe someone from Amarok can take a peek and tell us what they don't like?

Inappropriate?I am by no means an expert on Linux/Ubuntu/AmaroK, but I have found a partial solution to this and am trial-and-erroring to get a better one. I'm running Amarok 1.4.8 on Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy in Gnome.
I find that if I add a podiobooks podcast to Amarok with only the first episode selected, Amarok will only ever see the first episode. However, If I select release all episodes on podiobooks BEFORE adding the link to AmaroK for the first time, AmaroK will find all episodes. I can then manually download them as I need to listen to them.
Currently I'm trying to figure out how to completely clear podcasts that I've linked to with only a single episode released from Amarok. Simply deleting them from the playlist's podcast folder doesn't seem to work...re-adding them with all episodes released still only gets me the first episode. Maybe I'll try unsubscribing on podiobooks, then re-subscribing and releasing all episodes immediately....

Edit: removing and re-adding the feed to my subscriptions on podiobooks while deleting the feed from amarok, then re-adding the feed to amarok after releasing all episodes on podiobooks did NOT seem to change my earlier results. It seems that once Amarok sees the feed address once, it is locked in to whatever it saw the first time. there must be a log somewhere but I haven't found it yet.

Inappropriate?I've spent a little time looking into this. It appears that Amarok cannot cope with the <!-- Start iTunes tags --> and/or the <!-- End iTunes tags --> comments.
I have tested this by editing them out then referring to the edited file rather than directly to the feed.
Comments are valid syntax. So it appears it's an Amarok bug.
BTW MB Amarok uses a small database to log the information, which one is dependent upon the choice you made on first running Amarok.
I’m getting to the bottom of this
