API: When?
Do we have an idea when the API will be made publicly available? So we already know what features and functions the API will support?

Inappropriate? The API will be released this month! Are there some specific features/functions you would like out of it? How are you planning to use it?
I’m excited

Inappropriate?Idealy the API should contain:
- Functionality that doyoupoken.com has: collect contacts, clear device, etc.
- Ability to use more than just the business card and social networks field. Braindump: food preference, car maintenance history, buying preference, easier access to identities (but i guess you do that in the hardware, not the software).
- Ability to use the poken device against more than just doyoupoken.com but i'm not going to tell you that. ;-)
Do you see where i want to go? Extend the use of the poken device beyond doyoupoken.com. Prospects have shown some REALLY CLEAR business needs for a device like the poken.

Inappropriate? This is really the idea behind the API--that it allows for 3rd parties to manage an entire poken experience outside of doyoupoken.com. Also, regarding your second point, no, the hardware does not store any profile information. It just stores an ID. This is a crucial point for us as it means that your private info is secure even if your hardware is lost/stolen.

Inappropriate? Can you reveal something about how the API can be called? Will this be from Java, .Net, scripting languages? Personally i'm looking at Ruby, but i guess all developers will have their own preference. What you you guys looking at? Will there be wrappers?
-
Inappropriate? Our software is in Java, but anything that can send/receive XML should be able to access our API.
-
Inappropriate?Where can we download the API when it is released? And what is the estimated release date?
I’m excited

Inappropriate?Hi Bryan, will it also include the possibility to see which contacts 2 people have in common? That would be really slick!!
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate? Some more info available yet about the release
moment of the Poken-API?
We're ready to rock and roll!
I’m happy
