You've been ghosted!
I notice that I get a lot of "You've been ghosted!" cards, without both parties knowing. It seems like this mode is selected somehow by mistake.

Inappropriate?Hmm, that shouldn't be happening since ghost mode isn't enabled by default. Do you have any additional information about how it is being turned on? Is the interface confusing users to the point that they accidentally select it?
I’m confused

Inappropriate?I also have this problem. Out of the box, the ID is Ghosted by default. If I choose to import the Ghosted ID after which I loose track of the empty card.
If I then add the ID of the not-ghosted card as a friend in another account, I expect the Ghosted card to transform to a friend after all. This was not the case, I lost the ghosted card.
Then I tried not to process cards that appear ghosted, adding the Poken-id as a friend on the other side and then return to process the ghosted cards. I expected them to have changed to non-ghosted cards by now but they didn't.
This basically means you cannot just give Poken's out-of-the-box on events and fill out the default identity later on at this moment. -
Inappropriate?Same problem for me. I sold some Pokens and out of the box we started to Poken. And now "You've been ghosted". Huh?
I’m disappointed

Inappropriate? We updated the site to address this problem one month ago and have not received any complaints since. Could you please provide some more details about the ways that you pokened with these people? Is it possible that they actually ghosted you by double-clicking the palm?
-
Inappropriate?I normally poken first without touching anything. Then i explain the different modes (as far as i understand them) and start clicking the button. I don't poken them afterwards anymore.
So i think Gilles is right. By default the identities are ghosted.
I think the whole identity concept needs to be made more clear. I've been pokening for a while now and i still don't understand all of it. So either i'm not smart enough for this or the site doesn't always work the way it's supposed to do. Check my other post "I still don't understand anything about identities and modes.", "Friends get unwanted deleted!!" and "How to manage identities?" for more info.
Ton.
I’m anxious

Inappropriate?Jilles is right about many things but ghosting by default is not one of them. :-) There was a problem in February in which many users experienced errors during the signup process. The errors led to accounts created with no identities shared and, when people poken with no identities shared, they inadvertently ghost their poken partners.
Now we have revised the signup process such that users experience many, many fewer errors and, even if they do, their accounts still share an identity so as to avoid the unintentional ghosting behavior. This is why I am interested to know more details about Jeanet's poken behavior. -
Dear Bryan,
I don't know if the others clicked before pokening. I didn't do that. As I said before, they were new pokens (out of the box) and after "keeping" them the cards disappeared. A shame.
The last pokens were succesfull so I hope it'll not happen again. -
Inappropriate?Ok, the problem i have when i poken people is that by default people get my card ghosted. On top of that, when I receive a ghosted card, i can accept and reject it. No matter if i accept or reject, the card just disappears.
I have some users whom i have pokened several times now and i just don't get their cards.... -
Inappropriate?Do all people with whom you poken get your card ghosted? Are you sharing one or more profiles (Devices => Manage Modes)?
-
Inappropriate?I am sharing more profiles and yes, all my contacts get my card ghosted.
-
Inappropriate?Sounds like a different issue then; please email your account info to info ta doyoupoken tod com and we'll help you troubleshoot it.
