Just to keep people updated, we are still working on this and will add this in a future release. There quite a lot of other stuff want to do as well, however!

In the mean time, you can just skip the faces that are "not a person". In computer vision speak its a "false positive" or "bug".
You are also free to just call them all "bug". Depending on how we decide to implement your idea, this might help you get rid of them all quicker when the functionality is there.

It seems strange that PolarRose's algorithm makes so many false positives. Comparing to how advanced the face identification feature has become even in the simplest cameras it is strange to see that this service still makes so many mistakes (even though the computing power is so much larger).

Inappropriate?Compared with google's (and apples) algorithm and interface in picasaweb, this is poor, but given the resources they have compared with the big players it's not surprising. You should be asking why yahoo aren't doing this themselves, as this is the only tool I've found to perform face tagging conveniently for flickr pics.
