Inappropriate?I tried several times to add Reader and my blog with no success. Then, much later, I went back in to try adding LinkedIn again (another service I had trouble adding). When I clicked Add on LinkedIn, Reader and my blog added themselves "automagically".
Of course, LinkedIn still didn't add. -
Inappropriate?Though I'm not sure it's the right solution, I got it working adding my public reader URL (in Google Reader go to Settings | Folders and Tags and look for the "view public page" link, then copy that URL and paste it in the "username" field for Google Reader in Popego).

not work for me -
Inappropriate? Thanks, santiago. However, that didn't work for me. I pasted the URL in, and still nothing...Drat.

Inappropriate?Santiagos suggestion worked for me. You need to have a publicly shared feed. That's all you can pull into here apparently. I'd love it if you could just input an opml file, or a url where it is hosted. I had to manually add each of my google reader subscriptions as a blog.
-
Inappropriate?Santiago's suggestion worked fine BUT you have to do a trick in order to make it work !!
Just replace the google.xx in the URL by google.com
In my case, the URL was http://www.google.fr/reader/shared/xx... but it didn't work
I tried with http://www.google.COM/reader/shared/x... and it worked like a charm
Hope this works for you

Inappropriate?I guess I'm missing the point of adding Google Reader then. I don't use the shared items. I thought that PopEgo would base my interests on my subscriptions, not my shared items.
I’m confused

Inappropriate?Same exact problem.
I support the import of OPML files. Popego, is this possible? This would allow all people to import their RSS/Atom data, no matter what feed reader they use.
Another suggestion:
I guess this is more of a suggestion for the getsatisfaction.com folks, but Popego, could you please pass it on to them as a customer service issue? I am frustrated that I have to register YET ANOTHER internet account to use this forum. OpenID is nice and all, but customers with a Popego login should be able to use that login/session cookie to get access to this forum.
Thanks for listening!

Inappropriate?I'm VERY sorry about this guys.. You can add your Google Reader using your "shared items URL page". Like hashbrown said, you need to have a publicly shared feed.

Inappropriate?Okay, I see that the labels on the Popego Setup page have changed -- I LOVE how quickly you responded to this post. (Although ... you only changed the introductory messages, not the status/error messages).
So ... Hashbrown talks about using the "Blog" entry to add RSS subscriptions, but it seems like that's not the way it's supposed to be used. The "Blog" is supposed to be your own blog, not someone else's. Is that right, Santiago?
You might consider allowing people to add their entire subscriptions, rather than simply the posts they share using Google. I think that would be a significantly easy way to determine people's interests and it would add a lot more content to your site very quickly.
One more thing:
I was so hopelessly confused until I finally watched your TechCrunch video and your Quick Video Tour. I recommend everyone else watch these videos, because I can see some of you are as confused as I am. And I also recommend that Popego add some explanatory text to its site, to accompany the videos.
I’m undecided

Inappropriate?I added a tag "all" to all of my subscriptions in Reader. Then made that folder public in the Settings -> Folders and Tags page. I then clicked on "view public page". At this point, I should have been able to put this URL into the Reader box in my Popego page, but it tells me "account does not exist". So, I instead grabbed the RSS feed from that page and added it as a blog.
Unfortunately, I can't figure out a way to find out what information is being fed into Popego, but it does tell me that it added the blog successfully.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?@pkinney: You can tell that the blog was added successfully by viewing your public Autoblog at http://pkinney.popego.com (as opposed to http://popego.com/pkinney, which is your private way of accessing the site). When you see your autoblog you will see that all the posts from all your subscriptions are just labeled as "from the blog of pkinney."
Yes, as pkinney suggests, what we need is just a little more guidance as to exactly what Popego wants to be, and what kind of information we're supposed to be feeding it. The videos are a good start, but I would like to see an FAQ. I know help & support services can be a long time in the making for startups with limited resources (as evidenced by the fact that the founder of the company himself is answering our questions).
And more importantly, please explain how we're supposed to use Popego to get the info we want. I equalized my interests and whatever, but my tag cloud is still pretty random and weird. (Trust me, I am not interested in Chicken, 1968, Augmentation, geraldo, or towel).
I’m undecided
-
Inappropriate?@ntraft: Ok, I see what you are saying, although it bugs me that they come up as posts from my blog.
It would be really nice if I could set certain services as "private" so that they are used in computing my interests, but are not visible to everyone. For me personally, the most complete cross-section of my interests is my Google Reader account, but since I get a few hundred articles through that a day, it doesn't seem reasonable to "post" all of them to my Autoblog.
Just my opinion.
I’m undecided

Inappropriate?Great feedback guys. From what pkinney says, I'm thinking that maybe in the Popego Setup page, a drop-down to set "public" or "private" could work.
About the "Blog" item, yes, it's supposed to be your own blog. But we'll add an RSS Feed / OPML item if you want to import your feed readers. Note taken.
I’m taking notes
