I hope so, I added this as a suggestion.

Much like the functionality that Thunderbird has with the MinimizeToTray add-on.

We've put together a test build in advance of the next public beta which add add-ons support. We've worked with the add-on developer for Minimize To Tray to make it compatible with Postbox!
