Ability to quickly assign topics / archive via keyboard shortcuts
One of the things I love about Gmail is how I can quickly navigate through the messages just with keyboard shortcuts - it would be great if we could quickly archive and assign topics to messages (and how about a send and archive button as well) just using keyboard commands.

Inappropriate?Ron,
Try typing "t" for topics, and "a" for archive. A button for Send and Archive is a good idea as well.

Inappropriate? Is there a list somewhere of all the keyboard shortcuts?

Inappropriate?I would love to see the possibility to assign keyboard shortcuts to different actions, like move this mail to folder xy, apply filter xy to this folder... For Apple Mail there is this handy tool "Mail Tags" with its extension "Mail act on"

Inappropriate?t takes me to the topics popup, but then I still need to use the mouse to assign an actual topic. In thunderbird, I can just hit "1" in order to assign the first label to a message, this makes it very easy to do as I scan my Inbox.
Is there a way in Postbox to assign a Topic with just one key?
I’m a little disappointed.

just start typing ... it fills in the text field with a look-ahead type search as you type.
Makes more sense than memorizing the order of your topics. Just remember the topics themselves. -
Inappropriate?Strange... pressing "t" should set the focus to the text entry field. What platform are you on?

if i could get this behaviour for moving mails into folders that would be great! Assigning Tags is a clever thing, especially if one uses gmail. But for the rest of us, folders are still important! -
I'm on OS X. The focus works as you describe, so setting the "important" topic becomes t -> i (now "important" comes up as autocomplete) -> return (to populate the text box with "important") -> return (to mark the topic).
4x the keystrokes, but not horrible, I suppose.
Removing the topic seems more complicated, though. "t" brings up the topics dialog with "Important" checked, but is there a keystroke to shift focus to the checkboxes and/or remove a topic? -
Inappropriate?I'm thrilled others have the same idea. Like archive, hit a letter or number or "alt" + key to send an email to a specified folder.
I’m giddy others are thinking like me.

The extension "nostalgy is enough i.m.o.
When Postbox can use extensions there is no trouble anymore.
Keyconfig can be used to change shortcut keys.
