Apple Leopard Quick Look compatibility
Postbox doesn't seem to be compatible with Apple's Leopard Quick Look feature. If I do search for attachments in Apple Mail, I can then select the attachments I think might be right and do a Quick Look to see if I've found the one I'm looking for. Is there any way to get this to work in Postbox?

Inappropriate? This is almost a deal-breaker for me. Quicklook is so convenient in Mail.app. I get a lot of scanned files from work with nondescriptive filenames and I don't want to have to open the attachment to find out what it is.
I’m indifferent
-
Agree 100%. I haven't opened or used Postbox in the past few days because I got so tired of having to open the attachments. I get 20-30 pdf, jpeg and word attachments a day, and 90% of them I can respond to just by using Quicklook—never opening. -
Inappropriate?I've also got so used to this functionality in Mail.app I'm not sure I could live without it now.

Inappropriate?Agreed. I like PostBox, but lack of QuickView support is almost a dealbreaker.
I’m undecided
-
Inappropriate? We need this feature... It will be a deal breaker on OSX for most of users. It's so convient in Mail that I couldn't leave without it.
-
Inappropriate?I agree with this point. QuickLook is essential.
-
Inappropriate?Ditto here, this is pretty much the only thing that's keeping me from switching over.
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?I agree. Quick Look support would be awesome.
-
Inappropriate?I agree with all said above. If there's no QuickLook, I'll likely go back to using Mail.app
-
Inappropriate?Agree with the others.
-
Inappropriate?Never thought I use it as much as I do. Must have.
-
Inappropriate?I never realized how much i love, need and use QuickLook since I started with Postbox.
-
Inappropriate? One of the most important thing Postbox should apply to its application is QuickLook compatibility. It is one of very few feature that I missed since putting my Apple Mail into freeze and use Postbox for daily use.
I still have a little consideration to move back to Apple Mail for this particular feature, since I received a lot of attachments on my work account every single day. But if Postbox can provide this, I'd gladly uninstall Mail for good.
I am confident that this feature will be available soon enough. Am I wrong, Postbox guys?
So far, I'm very, very impressed with Postbox. You guys really did a very good job. I don't even mind paying for this app, and surely recommend it to my community.
Keep goin'.
I’m confident

Inappropriate?I've got to agree here. When I think about what would make me totally leave Apple Mail, Quicklook is up there. I would have never guessed that until I live without it while I'm testing Postbox in my real workflow. But yeah, this is essential (and hopefully not that difficult to add).

wow. Another sherman, now thats confusing (when getting it in through email). Came over here thinking it was the Postbox Inc's sherman after reading it in my email. -
Inappropriate?I know!!!! Think how confusing it is for me too -- I keep thinking "did I say THAT?" And then I realize, "Oh, no, it's the OTHER Sherman."
-
But we could be one in the same, see:

Inappropriate?I don't know if you guys ever noticed that if you have the inspector open and the email has images, you can click the image and a "quicklook-like" HUD comes up...
It's not the same as QuickLook (mainly because I want my QL plugins too) but kinda helps in the mean time :)
-
Inappropriate?Works for images, true. My 'QuickLook' need is for office docs though.
-
Inappropriate?Exactly. This is good for images, but mostly I want to look at Word and Excel docs without opening up an application.
-
Inappropriate? My feeling exactly! Preview is a light enough program that its not a big deal opening pdf's or images. But needing to launch a MS Office app to see an attachment is cumbersome.
-
Inappropriate?I agree quicklook is very much needed.
-
Inappropriate?I agree. QuickLook would be very useful for attachments.
-
Inappropriate?Quicklook! With a keyboard shortcut to view all attachments grouped - like when you select a couple of different files, you can scroll through them.
-
Inappropriate? This turned out to be one of our more popular requests! The latest beta now includes quick look support.
From the message pane, click an attachment or image and hit the space bar or go through the attachment context menu and choose quick look.
From a search tab:
For attachments or image search results, click on the attachment and click the quick look button in the action bar.
From the compose sidebar:
Click on an attachment or image and hit the space bar or right click the search hit and choose Quick Look.
In the future we'll also support multiple selection for quick look.
Thanks again everybody and enjoy QuickLook and Postbox!

Way to go Scott! Way to go ;-) -
Great! Thanks! -
Inappropriate?also awesome.
thanks again -
Inappropriate? You guys are the best. I can't tell you how good it feels to NOT open Word! ...mpw
-
Inappropriate? This is so great! Thank You!!!
Now a small modification. I want to be able to select multiple attachments and then hit the space bar to see them grouped. I would also like to select multiple attachments and do "save selected attachments". I also don't see "save all" attachments option?
I’m happy
-
all great points batamire. We plan on supporting multiple selection for quick look in the future. -

Inappropriate?Right you are Johnny. thanks.

Inappropriate?I was trying this today and it doesn't look like it works for pdfs

Inappropriate? Is Quick Look completely broken in Snow Leopard (10.6)? It doesn't work for me at all with any type of attachment.
I’m sad.
-
Yes, Apple changed something with Quick Look in Snow Leopard, and we couldn't react quickly enough to get it working properly in time for the 1.0 release. We hope to have this addressed ASAP.
Note: Apple does not have a documented API for Quick Look, which makes things more difficult for developers. -
Inappropriate? It's not COMPLETELY broken for me: if I do a QuickLook on an image attachment, it works. But not Word docs, PDFs, etc.
-
Inappropriate?Ooops...I jumped the gun a bit. It does work for images. I tried to update my post by the site got stuck and you guys were too quick on the draw.
I’m blah.
