archive message support for Gmail IMAP
Postbox needs an Archive button with regards to gmail support. Currently the archive button in Postbox seems to archive a message locally, but for Gmail users, many of us prefer to simply archive messages as a form of soft-delete. Right now though, only a hard delete of a message is possible when using Postbox with Gmail IMAP.
This really really needs to be implemented.

Inappropriate?Hi Unruled,
The archive button currently archives to an online Archive folder on your imap account. It isn't a local folder.
If you want to change the archive folder to be say your all mail folder you can do that via Tools / Account Settings / Account / Server Settings.

Inappropriate?Hi Scott,
thanks for your swift answer. I see that you are indeed right, but I can somehow only find the -all mail- folder on one of my gmail accounts. On the other it only lists 'trash' under the gmail subheader.
any idea why that is? Both accounts are using the default gmail settings.
I’m undecided

hello unruled, did you by any chance switch off "Show in IMAP" for "all folders" on the google web-interface for the account in question?
Considering the location of the folders, Scotts Reply here http://getsatisfaction.com/postbox/to... is helpful. -
I didn't know about that show in IMAP pref on the google web interface. Thanks for pointing that out! -
Inappropriate?Actually I found out what it was; for some reason Postbox hadn't subscribed to all Gmail folders by default for one of my accounts, whereas for the other account it had.
I added the subscriptions and solved the problem. Thanks!
I’m happy
