authenticated smtp username and password
I cannot put in authenticated smtp which requires a username + a password. Where to input the password?

Inappropriate?hbb, Postbox will automatically prompt you for your SMTP password the first time you try to send the message.
Just make sure you configured your SMTP server to require a username and password:
Tools / Account Settings / Outgoing Server (SMTP)

I just downloaded Postbox, it looks great. It asks me for a smtp password. I don't have that. I run outlook and eurdora from the same machine, they don't ask for a password. I live in a community here in France and nobody knows anything about this password. Anything I can do to make sure Postbox sends my email anyway?

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunatly it still doesn't work. The password screen keeps popping up and prompting me again for the password.
Any other ideas?

Inappropriate?This seems unusual but how about:
Tools / Account Settings / Outgoing Server (SMTP) /
select your smtp server and then Edit.
Uncheck Use name and password.
re-start Postbox and see if you can send.
If that still doesn't work, go back to that dialog and recheck Use name and password.
Then try using a user name that includes your domain if you aren't already (i.e. rose@gmail.com). And if after restarting that still doesn't work try using your user name without the domain (i.e. rose). -
