Bogus thread header text
When I have threads collapsed on one of my IMAP folders, the header (subject) text for a group of messages is totally bogus. It has nothing to do with these messages (the subject text never appears in this group of messages), although the text does seem to come from some other message, probably in this folder (which contains more than 1200 messages).

Inappropriate?Sherman, for grins, if you right click on the folder with this problem to bring up a context menu and then select Properties and rebuild Index, does the problem go away?
-
Inappropriate?Short answer: yes, this fixed it. Thanks!
Longer answer: I misspoke a bit on the original problem. It turns out there was a message with this "bogus" subject text appearing with the others in the thread. The only reason I can see it was appearing there is because the sender was the same as a sender in the thread in question. But this "bogus" message was from several months ago. [Hope that makes sense.]
In any case, yes, rebuilding the index fixed it. -
Inappropriate? We're going to be pushing a new update to take in the latest Mozilla security fixes (gecko 1.9.0.7) shortly and we're going to take advantage of that opportunity to also fix some of the bugs our testers found with b8 including this one.
Do you mind giving a test build a spin and verifying that this issue is fixed for you and reporting back here? You can download the test build here:
