Cannot move/copy e-mails out of archive folder.

I use Postbox to read my gmail account. I have archived some e-mails, which google treats as a label. However sometimes I want to move these to another folder later. When I try to do so, they disappear from the archive but do not appear in the folder I move them to. In gmail, I can still see them as having the archive tag.
