Change where postbox stores data
Can one change the location of postbox index data? I want to put all of my data on an separate encrypted partition, but can't seem to figure out how to do this.

Inappropriate?You might be able to do this by moving your postbox profile to a new location and then hacking up your profile.ini file in the Postbox application data directory to point to that location but I can't say that I've tried to do that :).

Inappropriate?Scott, it's a cumbersome and painful procedure.
Profiles have always been like this since the first Mozilla versions.
The reason at the time was that generating a random directory name to store the profile would be a countermeasure for viruses.
As a matter of fact it just render carrying the applications problematic... -
Inappropriate?anyone has tried launching it the 1st time from command line /path-to-postbox/postbox -P ??
-
Inappropriate?Yes, several times and IMHO it is still not a viable alternative because the profile is tied to a path.
So if you go around with a usb stick you must be sure to use/mount the same letter/mount pont.
I can already hear the screams "Where is my mail gone?!?" :) -
Inappropriate?In vista, edit the file "C:\Users\Edgar Lu\AppData\Roaming\Postbox\profiles.ini" to read
===
IsRelative=0
Path=drive-id_N_full-path e.g. D:\MailStore\Profiles\rckm95td.default

Would this be overwritten when you upgrade Postbox?
