Clicking the Junk button does not move mail into the Junk folder unless adaptive junk mail controls are enabled.
I have my accounts configured to move new junk messages to the Junk folder. However, I've disabled adaptive junk mail controls because they were returning an extremely high rate of false positives.
When I click the Junk button in the toolbar to mark a message in my inbox as Junk, the message is flagged as such but remains in my inbox. According to the setting under Junk Settings, the message should be moved to my Junk folder as soon as it's marked as junk.
I assume that the current implementation only considers new, unread inboxes messages as candidates to be moved to the Junk folder. Please change this behavior to respect non-new, read messages in any folder. Whenever and wherever a message is marked as junk, it should obey the setting and be moved to the Junk folder.

Inappropriate?"Alex, the move new junk messages to" seems to kick in in conjunction with the adaptative junk filetring.
The setting you are looking for is under Tools/Options/Privacy
"When I mark messages as junk..."

Inappropriate?This should be fixed.
I'm using Spamassassin on the IMAP server, so there's no need need to filter them again on all clients I use to access the IMAP account.
Sometimes a message gets through the SPAM filter and I'd like to be able to move the message to the IMAP server's "Learn as SPAM" by just pressing 'j'.

Inappropriate?I agree strongly with this. I use Postbox with Gmail (generally a lovely experience), but it would make great sense to be able to have junk filtering turned off in Postbox, but still use the junk button to move Gmail's false negatives to the junk folder.

Inappropriate?Agree - being able to select the folder that Junk is moved to would be useful. (Once it is being moved :)

Inappropriate? Thanks for the feedback Alex. this is something we'd like to fix in a future update.
