column preferences-specifically location-in inbox won't save
Is it possible to save preferences for how one views the inbox message list? Specifically, I've been trying to remove the location column by right clicking on the header and then deselecting location. However, as soon as I leave that tab and return to it, my preference is lost and I need to redo the action. I have no use for the location column, it's just taking up room, so I would love to remove it from the view entirely.

Inappropriate?In general, it would be nice if a view was associated with a tab, instead of being applied globally. On some tabs, I don't want to see the special right-hand "interesting contents" tab at all, but when I switch to another tab, I want it to be there. Same for certain columns entirely, as Jennifer points out.

The location column should only be present if you are in a saved search folder that's searching multiple folders. That's how you know which folder the search result came from.
Are you in a saved search when you see that column?

Inappropriate?It is a saved search. It's the inbox in the local folders. Nevertheless, it would be nice if the locations column were optional. With my accounts that I have combined in that inbox, I can identify which account a message came from in a split second, and moreover, which acct a message came from in that filter is just not important to me. The location column in that instance (I'm not saying every instance) is a waste of space. The account that I do need to have filtered carefully I have a separate filter for. It just would be nice if that column were optional because whether it's a saved search or not, whether the messages are coming from one or many accounts, I don't always need it.
