Inappropriate?Create a new "Saved Search" that looks for mail in all your folders (from the choose folder button, you have to select them one at a time right now), then select "status" is "new"
It actually seems to be broken right now (reported in another thread). In theory, that should work though.
You have to attach it to an account, unfortunately, but it can search across accounts. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for this answer. I have a follow up... Postbox seems to only recognize truly "NEW" messages, and not messages that I have marked unread. I keep track of a lot of my mail by marking "unread" after reading... but these don't show up in the Saved Search folder I created using the above instructions. Any way to make this work?

Inappropriate?Seriously, an unread view needs to be implmented ASAP. Why this option was removed (or hidden) from the Thunderbird codebase I don't understand.
To see only new messages my only option (other then the slow and broken search) is to go to "View, Threads, Threads with unread".
This is a very basic concept that should be a configurable button like it is in so many other mail clients, including thunderbird.
I’m angry

Hi Robert,
You can also go to File / New / Saved Search if you want to create a search folder for all unread messages.

Inappropriate?Scott,
I've tried that, doesn't seem to produce consistent results (all accounts are IMAP) regardless of if online search is checked or not.
Can you verify this search function is working? -
I have a single POP account configured and it doesn't work either (imported mailbox from SeaMonkey)
I want to search all folders of my account and editing the search settings, the folder is unset and be fixed ("Choose" opens a blank layer)
