This and Address Book integration would be enough to move me off of Mail.app and onto Postbox as my primary client. As-is, I find myself constantly going back to Mail.app, alas.

This is my biggest gripe with the program right now... I have to toggle between 8 different inboxes to check all of my mail. I've sorta solved the problem with a saved search, but it's far from elegant.

Completely agree as well. It is the one thing that is keeping me from switching to Postbox from Apple Mail

Also agree this is a must-have, but for POP accounts too, not just IMAP. It’s the biggest feature preventing me switching completely from Mail.

So what exaclty is Global inbox?

"A Global Inbox is an e-mail feature that consolidates the Inboxes of several e-mail accounts. For example, a user may have three different e-mail accounts, such as a work account, home account, and a free Yahoo! Mail account. A global inbox would store the messages from all three accounts in a single inbox."

I want the Global Inbox, too, of course! At least as an option. I would call that a must have for a modern mail program.

I hope global inbox comes with the next version. I would like to have that feature as well. I've seen it in TB 3 beta (as a smart folder) and I'm confident that the developers of PB are going to implant it as well.

This is the last thing needed to switch. Its more important than the search features that brought me to Postbox in the first place. I have over 16 YEARS of email stored in my various accounts. I have that spread across several IMAP servers. I need to keep track of those different servers all at once.

Please please please, your program is unusable without a global inbox. Obviously you have many people requesting this feature. Can you please give us some insight as to whether or not you will be adding this feature? If it's coming, i can live without it for a little while, but if it's not coming, i won't even try!

Here's a kind of workaround:

1. Go to LOCAL FOLDERS
2. Create a SAVED SEARCH
3. Use STATUS - IS - NEW (or READ or TO-DO) as search filter
4. Click CHOOSE and select folders which you wanna include in your search

And that's it. All my emails in the selected folders show up in this saved search folder.
Now, one of the tabs which is always open when I start Postbox is this global search folder. It's not as comfortable as a well functioning global inbox, but it works for me.

Thorsten: I appreciate the suggestion, and could see how that would work for some. However, I use my inbox as a way to keep open items in sight. So, after I read them, I need them still visible because they are still open or needing attention. A unified inbox would allow me to services all my IMAP inboxes in one cohesive place, which is REALLY necessary. I had to switch back to Mail.app for the time being, but am monitoring this and a couple of other threads for progress. I really liked Postbox, but there were a couple of deal breakers that I could not get around.

I am still hopeful though!

There should be unified inbox because I have 5 inboxes and it would be rather useful to have them in one inbox

If I have more than one account (Gmail, .mac etc) in Postbox, is there any way to see all of my new messages in one Inbox window? Right now it looks like I have to click back and forth between the accounts.

The Postbox great program, congratulations. A small comment: if more than one e-mail address, and I want to see the Inbox, you should be all over each clicking. It would be nice to be an Inbox if you have all the account inbox.
