GMail's "All Mail" folder not sync'ing so well

I am a Google Apps user and my email account's "All Mail" folder sits below my Inbox in the PostBox folder tree. I'd assume that the same issue would apply to GMail users.

When new messages arrive in my Inbox, the "All Mail" folder will correspondingly show the same amount of unread messages. If I read and delete the new messages, the "All Mail" folder unread count will correspondingly reflect the deletions. However, if all I do is read the new messages, the "All Mail" folder will continue to register the same number of unread messages as it did before I started going through the unread messages. It's not until I select the "All Mail" folder that it will, most of the time, update itself to show no unread messages. However, at times, it doesn't even do that and I have to manually flag the messages read.

In the same way, I just flagged an Inbox message as unread. I switched to "All Mail" and the message isn't flagged unread. I log into GMail via the web and I see the message flagged as Unread both in the Inbox as well as in "All Mail".

So there's a sync'ing issue with the unread message flags. However, things are fine with updating with regard to message deletions.

Is this something that you can address or is it something for the ThunderBird developers?
