Inappropriate?Mortifiles, we're working on that process now, but we'll most likely ask students to email a scan or photograph of their student id to us, and we'll then initiate an order on our ed. In the meantime, please simply continue using the beta, and we'll put out a notification when we're ready to accept student orders. Thanks!
-
Inappropriate?I presume this discount would be for college students only, yes?
-
We're still working out the requirements, but the current thinking is that we'll simply require a student ID and valid .edu email address. But please share your thoughts if you feel this wouldn't work for you. -
Well, my college does not have a .edu domain so that would be tricky. I attend du.se, which is the Swedish version of college :) -
Ok, glad I asked! We won't bind by .edu then. -
Sounds good :)
In my case I would send from my student mail which ends in @du.se so you can verify it's a student email plus adding my student ID. Should be sufficient I hope :) -
German universities don't use .edu domains either, just regular .de ones. There is usually an "uni" (for university) in there somewhere, but I don't think those are regulated in any way. -
Inappropriate?I am in no hurry, I have 2 more years left as a student...unless someone grab me before that and offer me a job that is :)
-
Inappropriate? My school uses .org and I don't have an email address with them. I'm not sure I still understand - can secondary school students get the discount?
-
@cwkguy If you have a student id (college, secondary), and are able to purchase things online, then you're good to go. -
Inappropriate?Cool. How big will the discount be?
-
Inappropriate? The student price will be $19.95 USD.
-
Inappropriate? What about for a family pack? Or does it not apply?
-
Inappropriate? The student discount is really just for students, although, if you have multiple students in the household the normal family pack pricing might work out better for you.
-
Inappropriate? So as my mom wants to use Postbox too, the student discount does me no good.
-
Correct, so one option would be Postbox + Family pack, would that be of any interest? -
Inappropriate? Why not just buy the family pack? I'm not sure I understand why I would want to buy both licenses.
-
You mentioned that you wanted a license for your mom too. So one student license would be 19.95. Even if your student license extended to your mother (which it doesn't) that would be another 19.95 (19.95 x 2 = 39.90) , which is essentially the same price as Postbox with the Family Pack add-on, which is 39.90. -
Inappropriate?Ok, but why not simply buy the family pack option while it is on sale for $9.95? Wouldn't that save me a lot of money?
-
Ah... I see. So can you purchase Postbox 1.0 for $19.95 on student discount, plus the Family Pack add-on while it is on sale for $9.95? Sure, we can do that. Please remember that the Family Pack is an add-on to the base Postbox 1.0 purchase. If this wasn't clear, please let us know. -
Inappropriate? No, it wasn't clear. Usually "Family Pack" means a family can purchase that instead of a license and use that for however many computers. The fact that's it's an add-on is un-usual and should be made more clear to your customers.
Two questions:
1. Will there be a free version of Postbox? If so, will it have advertising?
2. If there will not be a free version, can we instead to continue to use the BETA 14 release? Don't get me wrong, I put great faith in this program, it's just that my family is in tough economic times and it's probably not a good idea for us to spend money on a mail client at the moment.
-
Ok, you're the first to cite any confusion, but we'll see if we can't make the add-ons more clear.
With respect to the rest of your questions:
1) Our hope is to have a free version of Postbox, but we do not have any additional information to announce at this time.
2) Unfortunately no, the Betas will eventually expire. And we certainly understand that times are tough at the moment! -
Inappropriate?OK. Well, let me know when that free version is ready. In the meantime I'll continue using the Beta 14 as long as I can.
