iCal invite attachment comes up as text
When I receive an iCal invite in an email, instead of showing me the attachment and letting me open it to import it into iCal, the email comes up with the source of the attachment. Like this:
BEGIN:VCALENDAR
PRODID:-//Apple Inc.//iCal 3.0//EN
CALSCALE:GREGORIAN
VERSION:2.0
METHOD:REQUEST
BEGIN:VTIMEZONE
.... and it keeps going.
This makes it hard to even read the details about the invite with Postbox.

Inappropriate?I just noticed the inspector has a ink to open the .ics file and import it into iCal. Now the only issue is that the attachment is still showing up as gibberish below the email.
I’m silly

Inappropriate?yeah. it does kinda do that doesn't it.
here is what the attachment header looksl ike:
--Apple-Mail-1--521561389
Content-Disposition: attachment;
filename=iCal-20090130-122308.ics
Content-Type: text/calendar;
x-unix-mode=0644;
name="iCal-20090130-122308.ics"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable -
Inappropriate?One thing that is bugging me is that iCal still opens Mail.App to send its announcements even though postbox is set as my default email client.
Apparently the problem is iCal is stupid with its mail client handling (http://macosx.com/forums/1444993-post5.html).
Does Postbox support apple script yet? -
Inappropriate?Guillaume, that screen shot looks like the right thing right now. The ics file shows up as an attachment in the inspector bar which can be opened to add to your calendar.
-
Inappropriate?Yes Scott, but wouldn't it be nicer if the content of the ics file was not display on the right. I don't know what exactly could be shown here instead, why not a large calendar icon ?
I’m unsure
-
Inappropriate?you mean instead of showing the geek stuff on the left, show something prettier...that makes sense to me.
