Lightning initial feedback
Lightning seems to work well. I should add that I seemed to have some initial flakiness (appointments went missing, upon relauch of Postbox my two Google Calendars that I had added in Lightning showed blank names, more). I did a relaunch yet again, and now all seems back in order and working. Syncs nicely with GCal. I'm also using a couple of apps on my iPhone that sync to GCal and there seems to be no problem here (not that I'd expect any).
Follow this praise to get notifications on your dashboard.

Inappropriate?Thanks Sherman. A couple questions:
1) are you using the google provider add-on for your two goolge calendars or are they both working without it?
2) how did you set up your calendars? Did you do this by hand in postbox lightning or did you migrate from tbird (where we would have imported those settings)

Inappropriate?Just tried Lightning on PBb14. My specs, just in case: MacBook Pro 13", 2.26gh, 4gb RAM, 10.5.7. Ever since I upgraded to my new machine, PB is super fast (but then everything is pretty fast on this machine :-).
Really liked having the calendar pane right next to the messages.
Really didn't like that both the "File" and "Edit" menus disappeared. Not good.
In fact, if I clicked where they were supposed to be, they appeared... sort of, but with empty blank lines, and functions missing. As soon as I uninstalled the xpi, the problem disappeared. :-(
I've also got Dictionnaire HunSpell en Français 2.0, ImportExportTools 2.2.3, Nostalgy 0.2.20 and Zindus 0.8.12 installed.
No idea where the conflict is, but someone's not playing nice on the playground...

uninstalling the lightning XPI fixed the missing menu issue you saw Bruce? -
might be worth trying to disable your other add-ons and then enablign lightning to see if it's a conflict between add-ons. Any errors in Tools / Error Console when the conflict occurrs?

Okay, thanks. I disabled all the add-ons (Dictionnaire HunSpell en Français 2.0, ImportExportTools 2.2.3, Nostalgy 0.2.20 and Zindus 0.8.12) except for lightning and restarted Pb. The problem seemed to go away. I then tried re-enabling the others, one by one, with an app restart each time. The weird disappearing menu display hasn't come back (yet?). I'll let you know if it comes back after I reboot my machine. Maybe the order that the add-ons are activated makes a difference?

Inappropriate?I am unable to enter a date when creating a new event. I can create an event on a given day by clicking on that day in the calendar, but I use the menu, and open the dialogue, any date I enter in the date field gets replaced by the current date.2 Comments Add a comment

is it the day or the time that isn't getting remembered correctly? so you have the New Event dialog up and you poke at the date or the time and then click the save / close toolbar button and those settings don't show up in the calendar?
Can you reproduce this with a local calendar or is it just an issue with an online caldav or google calendar server? -
I'm only using Google Calendar, and it's the date itself. When I create hit create new event, then enter a new date, either through the picker or typing, it just overwrites it with today's date when leaving the field. Big fail!

Inappropriate?Can Lighntning sync with ICal (Mac) ? All may calendar's dataes are on Mac (ICal) and sync with Iphone (Calendar).
