List of TB Extensions to port to PB
Hi,
this a list of Extensions which would be great if they get ported to PB. I dont know how your "procedure" with this kind of request is, so I just post the list:
- Display mail route
- DisplayMUA
- View all headers Button
This would be so great to have this information availible in the "Info-Area" on the right side of the message...

Inappropriate?Another one: Filtaquilla
You can setup Filters to execute a File when the filter matches. For Example: You get a formated email from your website and pipe it to a script which adds an appointment in GoogleCalendar
I’m excited

Inappropriate?I contacted the developers / maintainers of "Display mail route", "DisplayMUA", and "Filtaquilla" abount porting these Extensions
-
Inappropriate?cool thanks for doing that Andreas.

Inappropriate?I got an answer from the maintainer of "Display mail route" and
"DisplayMUA" which unfortunately translate to "why should I" - so I fear these two will not be ported.
Maybe someone with experience wants to fork them.
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?DisplayMUA doesn't look too hard to port (haven't actually looked at the code [but it probably can be done since Postbox stores and accesses mail the same way Thunderbird does or so it looks]).
You just have to change a couple of IDs and add the version stuff in install.rdf
Display mail route is a bit more complicated because you also have to port mheney (or whatever) and bring mail route to support TB3. -
Inappropriate?Several days ago I contacted Ronald Wahl (rwahl@gmx.de), one of the (co)authors of the mail redirect extension and asked him whether he could modifiy the extension to work with Postbox
he did meanwhile: the mod has the full TB3 functionality of the redirect extension --- with one exception: mail adress auto-completion, due to the fact that PB partly rests on a very early buid of TB3 (pre 3.01a) with bigger changes code parts that affect auto-completion; maybe the Postbox authors can help here
you will find the mod on http://mailredirect.mozdev.org/ (search down to the TB3 support section and you will find the link on this page)
thanks to Ronald, have fun,

Great stuff. I've been waiting for this one. -
Clemens,
Thanks for contacting Ronald and asking him to port mailredirect to Postbox!
I've confirmed it works with Postbox, so I've added it to our extensions page, see http://www.postbox-inc.com/extensions/
Thanks again,

Inappropriate?I got feedback from rkent (Author of Filtaquilla):
The issue is that FiltaQuilla, like all of my extensions, relies on code that was recently added to the Mozilla mailnews backend. Thunderbird 3.0, and SeaMonkey 2.0, have the newer backend. I've looked at the public code that Postbox has released, and it is based on an earlier version of Mozilla mailnews. Perhaps at some point in the future they will upgrade to a more recent version, but until they do there is nothing that I can do to port my extensions, including FiltaQuilla, to Postbox.

I’m confident

Inappropriate?Another extension I would like to have in Postbox is ThunderNote. It would be a very nice extension in conjunction with lightning...
