Make To-do's stand out
Please make the Todo icon in the message list more visible, or color messages marked as a ToDo. It could even toggle a ToDo topic where the color could be chosen.
As the Postbox icon is nothing like most people are used to (stars and flags), I think it should be more prominent so people can actually see it when scanning. Entourage has the bright red flag, and Gmail has a bunch of colorful icons in labs. Anything is better than a thin greyscale icon for grabbing attention.
Without a change to the icon, we'll have more people confused like Zeb was: http://getsatisfaction.com/postbox/to...

Inappropriate?James,
In addition to these ideas, what about a different background color for to-dos? Would that work for you? Or would you rather have a bright icon? (We started there, but caused the interface to look really busy, so we toned it down to what it is today.) -
Inappropriate?Have been thinking this from the FIRST time I used it; couldn't agree more. Or at least highlighting the line in color like in Mail.app.
Love it so far though! -
Inappropriate?Would you rather have colored text colored or a colored background row?
-
Inappropriate?Either or, really. I know I use colored background row more in Mail.app, but I also know some people find that overkill.
-
Inappropriate?I vote for background color, like labels in finder (mac).
I think to-do is maybe an overkill when you have topics (why they aren't called tags?) and background-color is needed for topics too.
And yes, please make some shortcuts for quickly assinging topics! (and to-do)
Like in thunderbird 0-9 keys would work really fine!!!
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I prefer the idea of using a more obvious icon, if you're going to do anything. I rarely use colored highlighting (text or background) as I find that everything starts to look too busy. In my opinion, highlighting text or background should be completely user configurable and reserved for rule options such as highlighting mail from a certain sender, etc.

Inappropriate?A bit more prominent colored todo!

Inappropriate?I don't find this icon so bad.
-
Inappropriate?Icon is OK and if you you stick todos it's fairly easy to tell the difference...
What I would like to see is background coloring in message list (NOT TEXT) like in mac finder's labels - rounded with sexy gradients!
I’m amused

Eeeeee....looked at trying to do that, and it's way over my head! And I would still prefer something similar to Mail.app's color-coded labels or something like that. -
Me want!
Any chance you could post the before and after code for this change? (for us non-jar-gurus? -
Here it is:

Be careful, plus you must do this again when you install a new version. Hopefully they'll provide this by default soon...or, at least, provide users with alternatives (can you hear us?...) :-) -
Thank much, Luca!
