memory usage getting worse?

updated to 1.0b8 yesterday and have had big problems with memory usage, 1.5 gig real and over 2 gig of virtual, which is slowing my machine down massively. Postbox has crashed a few times as well - anyone else having this problem?

I have a little applet running constantly that allows me to monitor RAM and swap usage. When I glanced at the RAM monitor because my machine had grown so sluggish, I saw I had only.1.2MB of RAM remaining, which was dwindling quickly, and my swap file had grown to nearly 2 GB. When I shut down 1.0b8, close to 1 GB of RAM was released. There's definitely an issue somewhere. You're not the only one with the problem.

BTW, I'm running XP SP3 on a Dual Core P4 clocked at 2GHz. and have my system RAM maxed out at 2GB.

Sorry, I'm running a MacbookPro, 2.4 gig with 2gig ram....find I have to open Postbox, check my mails and then close again or else my computer will just hang after about 30 mins....
