Minimize to Tray?
Is their an option to minimize to tray? I like to leave my email client open to get my mail as it arrives and I don't like to take up space on my task bar. TIA

Inappropriate?Hello Beatnik,
if you search this section of getsatisfaction, you'll find several threads about this topic. In one of them, the program "Trayconizer" was introduced. This (or a similar program) is the only way atm of getting PB minimized to tray. Works like charm with trayconizer for me.
(at least, if my smtp errors are not related to it... ;) )
I’m wondering...I mean, ther's a "search-as-you-type"-function...

Inappropriate?I just ran into an odd thing. My batch file to "Trayconize" wont close on its own, It is a very simple script. I have used both the "exit" and "cls" commands and neither will close it I am thinking it's because of the fact the window is open because Trayconizer is running?
Everything is working the only problem I have is when i open postbox i now must close a terminal window every time. Although this is not frequent I am just a little obsessed that way. I just dont understand is why i can close the cmd window and the app will still minimize to the tray.
here is the code i am using currently using
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@echo off
"C:\program files\Trayconizer\Trayconizer.exe" "C:\program files\Postbox\postbox.exe"
cls or exit
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I tried both as a close window command here but neither worked??? does anyone have a solution to this or is it something I will have to deal with.
I’m ripping out my hair one by one

Strange...
But sorry,, I can't help you out, I don't run a batch file, and I've never seen any terminal window starting PB via trayconizer. -
Inappropriate?I wouldn't worry too much on this one beatnik. We're going to be supporting add-ons soon and minimize to tray is one of the ones that we hope to have ready to go.
-
Inappropriate?I guess i can deal with closing my window but how do you use trayconizer for postbox MMester? I would like to know as I dont like using batch commands. On the trayconizer website this was the only way explained to use it, well actually it says to do it via terminal command so i could see doing it through run on the start menu but with the batch file i have shortcuts.
I am interested in how you run trayconizer MMester? If you dont mind telling me?
Also thank you Scott, Maybe once you start supporting add-ons it will be like flock, as flock has its own add-ons but you will find that certain firefox add-ons work well too. especially for features like this.
I’m almost satisfied but still using postbox as my primary

Inappropriate?you have to change the properties of the shortcut (for example the desktop icon) that points to PB.

Inappropriate?thanks I dont know why i didnt just do that first I was thinking old school, LOL. Works great this way thanks now I dont even care if it is part of the program anymore as i know of this app i can use for anything Thanks for helping me simplify things.
I’m starting to think smarter rather than working harder

Inappropriate? We've put together a test build in advance of the next public beta which add add-ons support. We've worked with the add-on developer for Minimize To Tray to make it compatible with Postbox!
Check it out and let us know how it works:

Thanks!
