Moving Folders in Beta 9
I moved my Sent and Trash folders in Beta 9. When i first did this and clicked "okay" everythign was fine, except that i then had 2 "trash" folders. So i unsubscribed from the original "Trash" so that only "Deleted Messages" (Mail.app and iPhones defaults) would be there.
As soon as i unsubscribed it moved deleted messages back up to under my inbox and is NOT putting deleted mail into it.
So, now when i delete mail, it doesn't seem to be going anywhere ... just lost in the /dev/null (i tried reindexing, no luck).
Seems like there is still an issue with assigning folders that are not the default folders with Beta 9. This is on my box with a fresh install and brand new profile (deleted my old profile and recreated all my accounts from scratch with beta 9 this morning ... so no left over issues from older betas)

Inappropriate? What is your trash folder set to in Tools / Account Settings / Server / Server Settings?
-
Inappropriate?I did find a way to correct it, and reproduce it.
1) Resubscribe to "Trash"
2) Quit postbox
3) launch postbox, reset Trash as the trash folder
4) Quit Postbox
5) Set "Deleted Messages" as trash
6) Quit postbox
7) Unsubscribe to Trash, index messages.
At this point everything works. Even my "lost" emails that i deleted re-appeared at this point. Which, its a little creepy. means they are being saved locally somewhere when the trash is screwed up but not back to the server.
Reproducing the error
If i return it to default and skip step #6, the same problem occurs again. It seems like the quitting of postbox is essential to making the change default folders thing work. -
Inappropriate?Nice detective work mbond.
That actually makes sense in a weird way. You need to quit Postbox so we'll forget that the trash folder we thought was trash when we connected to the imap server is no longer the trash folder. And only when we forget that can you really unsubscribe to the old trash folder since we don't let you delete or unsubscribe from special folders. -
Unfortunately, that process is extremely unintuitive and very 1990 "you must restart your system to make a change" ;-) -
Inappropriate? This is apparently still an issue in Beta 12.
After upgrading to beta12 at home, it is no longer deleting mail properly and is no longer selecting "Deleted Messages"
It is only happening at home though, not at work. So ... something is different somewhere. I haven't had time to figure it out yet ... but i just wanted to give you a heads up that my trash settings got all zoinked up when i upgraded last night.
NOTE: it was working fine with the pre-release of beta 12, the actual beta 12 broke it.
The above steps will likely fix it again, but i haven't tried them yet.
I’m sad

Just an update: following the above fix fixed it for me again. Something still screwy with specifying folders ...
