Did you set up your imap gmail account using our account wizard - which fills in all the details for you? (Tools / Account Settings / Add Account / choose gmail (imap).

The gmail settings we use include SSL over port 993.

Thanks for your reply. At home this shouldn't be a problem but I'm working right now so I guess port 993 is closed somehow. Not sure if they're flexible enough to open that one.. thans again.

I have the same problem. In fact I have posted already because I couldn't send any e-mails when I am at work from my gmail account. So to solve that, after reading all the posts here, I have changed my settings for port 25 with no SSL, but now I can send my e-mails from gmail, but I don't receive any! it says it is impossible to connect to imap.gmail! any suggestions?
