Postbox didn't find my Thunderbird mail folders
Postbox didn't find my Thunderbird mail folders. When I installed postbox, it imported my account settings from TB but did not import any of my existing mail or mail folders. Postbox picks up new mail and sends ail fine.
How can i import my old mail from TB?

Inappropriate?John, I've been hoping to find a guinea pig who ran into this issue in the wild. If you have some time, I'd love to debug this with you.
Some initial questions first:
1) How many accounts do you have?
2) Did all of them have this problem or just one account in particular?
3) If the problem is with one account in particular, is this an imap or pop3 account?
4) what version of thunderbird were you using?
5) Can you start up Thunderbird and go to Tools / Account Settings then select the account that did not get its mail folders migrated and select Server Settings for that account, at the bottom is a setting for Local Directory. Can you post that file path here?

Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Phew!!
I have 5 accounts - 2 hotmail and 3 POP.
The problem occurred with the POP accounts - 2 of which had messages in various folders and the third was empty.
I use TB 2.0.0.21
I had relocated the mail folders in TB for 2 of the POP accounts to my data partition for ease of backup. These 2 POP accounts use the local folders inbox which is located at D:\John\My Documents\Thunderbird\Profiles\8n4ihb5i.default\Mail\Local Folders. My other POP account uses its own (not relocated) folder which was empty when I installed postbox.
I assume that having relocated the folders caused the import issue.
.
I’m confused

Inappropriate?Scott,
I realised that I may have not answered your question re the folders correctly. The folder location shown in server settings in TB are : E:\Documents and Settings\John\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\8n4ihb5i.default\Mail\pop.1and1.co-1.uk.
E: is my system drive (i.e. where TB and postbox are installed).
I’m anticipatory

Inappropriate?Thanks for the information John.
So two POP accounts had this problem but your hotmail accounts were ok. And the two POP accounts are using the universal inbox but you changed the default location for Local Folders in Thunderbird to point to your d:\ drive where you have your data partition?
That sounds like a pretty good lead to follow up on. -
Inappropriate?Scott,
Yep, that's correct. My third POP account uses the default folders but as it had no messages, I can't say whether there was a problem with that account.
I’m unchanged
-
Inappropriate?Dang, I did some migration tests with a couple pop3 servers that used the same global inbox and I changed the file location of local folders to be somewhere ele and the local folders inbox came through migration in fact so it must be something else unique about that profile. Although I'm not giving up on the changing the location of the local folders account idea yet.
