Postbox Mac OSX
I am ona MacbookPro OSX and I downloaded PostBox a few days ago My email account is a regular Hotmail account NOT Hotmail Plus. At first I was able to send emails using PostBox but now It keeeps giving me errors every time I try to send an email !!! It gives me an smpt.live.com server has timed out error message

Inappropriate?I wonder if hotmail is having an outtage right now. You are the second person to report this in the last few minutes and I'm unable to telnet to port 25 (the smtp port) of smtp.live.com which makes me think their smtp server may be down at the moment.2 Comments

But I am able to send email from hotmail.com and this problem with postbox started from last nigth I believe. -
could it be that I have to have Hotmail PLUS and regular Hotmail wont work?

Inappropriate?Can you go to Tools / Account Settings / SMTP (Outgoing Server) /
edit your hotmail smtp server (smtp.live.com)
and take a screen shot or list the settings here including port, whether use secure authentication is checked, the name of the smtp server (it should be smtp.live.com), is it set to use TLS, SSL, etc.

Your settings look correct.
Any chance when it was originally working you were connected to the internet in a different location from where you are now (i.e. a home network, vs. a cafe vs. the office) -

You could try creating an SMTP log:

then start up Postbox, send a message, quit and send the log that gets created to scott@postbox-inc.com with a link to this getsatisfaction report and I can see if anything jumps out at me.
