Inappropriate? This would dramatically increase my chances of adopting Postbox as my desktop client.

Inappropriate?Doesn't seem that there is any integration. It's a shame really.
I don't see any point to using Postbox without this. -
Inappropriate?Older topic here.

Would like to know if this is on the roadmap at all for postbox.
I’m unsure

Inappropriate? Is there a way to implement both - the Gmail integration and the one with OpenMeta? Please refer to this thread: http://getsatisfaction.com/postbox/to...
I am curious because I dont know how each of them work or could work together.
If to choose, I would certainly favor Gmail over OpenMeta -
Inappropriate?Biggest feature holding me back from switching to postbox

Inappropriate? It shouldn't really be that hard to implement. The way gmail does tagging (to my knowledge) is that it created a new folder for each tag, then copies the message into there. Postbox simply needs to sync its tags with the folders in gmail, then copy messages the same way Gmail does.
This is actually partly available in Thunderbird: you can right click on the email and click "Copy to xxx", where xxx is the folder corresponding to the tag.
I’m optimistic, but sad that it hasn't been implemented yet.

Inappropriate?Through IMAP, Gmail exposes its labels as folders rather than as keywords.
See Gmail's Buggy IMAP Implementation.
My understanding is that Postbox stores its topics as IMAP keywords.
So Postbox has the tricky problem of:
1) Dealing with Gmail accounts differently from other IMAP accounts. Note that, because of Google Apps, not all Gmail accounts end in "@gmail.com".
2) Synchronizing Gmail's labels (a.k.a. IMAP folders) with Postbox's topics (a.k.a. IMAP keywords).
