searching is not functional at all
For no reasons, searching is completely not functional. Restart of the Postbox, restart of the Macbook... nothing helped. Searching from menu Edit > Find > Advanced Search is functional. But not from the search box. Any experiences or help with that?

Inappropriate? Is this a new Postbox install? Have you indexed your messages yet?
-
Inappropriate?I have installed Postbox about one month ago. And yes, I have indexed all folders. The Inbox folder is set to be available offline and I am using Mobile Me. I know it is difficult to solve this kind of problem. I just wanted to know if there is some known reason when this could happen.

Inappropriate?I have the same problem. I am: WIN7, 4 Accounts, all IMAP. I've been running POSTBOX for 3 months, flawlessly, super fast search, now it's stopped running. I purchased a license hoping that would fix the problem, but search is still non-functional...
Every search turns up no results.
It seemed to coincide with the option to search by field, an option I hadn;t seen before, but perhaps it was always there.
Any search, in any field, always results in zero results now.
I’m frustrated

FYI - if I right click on an account and choose search, it works perfectly, it's just the search box at the top right that's not working. With the lack of other reports on this, I'm focused on the possibility of end user error at the moment. -
Inappropriate?I am having the EXACT problem as Jeff, the only search that works for me is right clicking on an account. I cannot use Searching from menu Edit > Find > Advanced Search is functional as El Rizo can, it doesn't work.
I have been using Postbox for months, and never had this problem until the past couple of weeks. I starting using Postbox for my work email because it USED to be quicker to find emails/attachments than Mac Mail, but now that i cant easily search, i'm starting to regret shelling out $40

Inappropriate?Hi Jeff / Wesley
any errors in Tools / Error Console when you try to do a search from the search bar?

Inappropriate?jeff wyatt sharpley and others,
Thanks for reporting this problem. From your console messages, it looks like your index file (msgfti.sqlite) is corrupted. To fix this in Postbox 1.0.1:
1) Quit Postbox
2) Find your msgfti.sqlite file in your profile (see http://getsatisfaction.com/postbox/to... for how to find your profile)
3) Restart Postbox
4) Do "Tools | Indexing | Index All Folders..."
Indexing should be fast as Postbox will not need to download your email again, as it we should have it already.
Can you try this and let me know if it works for you?
The next version of Postbox has code to handle (and repair) corruption automatically, so that you won't have to do this if your index file gets corrupt again.
