Support for multiple network locations
I work at a university with proxy servers, but need a direct connection at home. Is there a way to make Postbox work without manually switching settings each time I transport my laptop (perhaps by attempting to connect via proxy, and failing over to a direct connection? Or, can it pull from the OS X location settings to determine the correct network configuration? This would make me tremendously happy.

Thank you for this great application. Are there any plans for Postbox to support reading Proxy (including SOCKS) settings from the Mac preferences (as Apple Mail and other applications do)? I have proxy settings per Location and Location switching is done automatically on my Mac (using MarcoPolo). But to use Postbox, I have to manually change the proxy settings each time I take my laptop home or back to work, etc.

For now you can configure your Proxy from Preferenes / Advanced / Network Connections1 Comment

Inappropriate?But this feature is available now in the latest Thunderbird beta! It is the one thing which stops me buying Postbox!

Inappropriate?Well, I give up. Version 1.0.1 still doesn't honour the Mac system proxy settings, even though the last two Thunderbird betas do. Surely it is not controversial to want an app to use the proxy settings the user has setup in the OS system preferences? Why the ominous silence for three months? Do you not want my money? I am finding that Thunderbird 3.0b4 is an excellent and free alternative and my desire to use Postbox is fading fast.
