Two minor feature requests
Two (minor) feature requests:
1) When clicking "send", what do you think about closing the window immediately and showing the send progress in a progress bar somewhere else? I can click on the main window and not wait for the send, so it's not a big deal, but there's no reason to sit and watch it send either.
2) When viewing conversations (threaded view), please show all related emails, including those not in the current mailbox. This is how gmail does it and it works well
Thanks!
Ron

please make number 2 work without needing to click that gather button. it's annoying to switch contexts like that. gmail does this really really well. i need to at least see my own replies within a conversation or the thread view is practically useless.

Inappropriate? To the first point, we've heard that a couple times and like the idea but we may not get to it in the short term.
To the second point...when you are reading a message that is part of a conversation that spans multiple folders, you should see a button called 'Gather' in the message header area. Clicking that button opens the entire conversation in a new message tab pulling in the messages regardless of what folder they are in.

Inappropriate?I'm not seeing the gather button.
I think along a similar line in Eudora if you option click (Mac) a Subject, From, or Date message (not the header) it ''gathers'' all the messages together. This is something I use dozens of times a day and really really want in Postbox please. -
Inappropriate?Kit, we only show the gather button when we've detected that there are messages in the conversation in other folders. It's possible that if the Postbox indexer hasn't quite caught up with you that we havne't discovered the other messages yet.

Inappropriate?Hi Scott,
Thanks for the comment about gather.
And to my 2nd comment ''I think along a similar line in Eudora if you option click (Mac) a Subject, From, or Date message (not the header) it ''gathers'' all the messages together. This is something I use dozens of times a day and really really want in Postbox please.''
Any thoughts? -
Inappropriate? The whole reason why I can't move people off Outlook into web Gmail is because of the having to hang around to send (while attachments upload and message is submitted)
I hope Postbox is the Outlook killer for offline/desktop GMail
I’m excited

Inappropriate?actually, i like the idea of #2, but i'd like a way to turn it off as well. sometimes i'm viewing threads that span 50+ messages and I do not want to see all of the replies. maybe make it optional by folder... so you could keep it on for messages viewed in the inbox and off for anything else, something like that.

Inappropriate?I definitely agree with number one. It seems odd to me really, for there to be a status box that pops up. Especially with broadband connection, I don't have to see how fast it is going or make sure it sends before I "sign off." I think closing the message and having it send in the background (with the option for a visible status in the main window) would make the app feel less dated.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I agree with both!

We're working on the send feature and it should be in a future update of Postbox. -
Inappropriate?I like #1 especially
-
Inappropriate?Another vote for closing the message window automatically after hitting send.
