(Too) selective Channels?
About Channels: do they pick up all the news from all the feeds with the same tag? I imported some channels in Google Reader, but if I compare each feed (in PostRank itself and in IGoogle simple feeds) with the channel, the channel shows much less. I tried to set non-selective parameters ("all" and no word filter) but I get the same result. In this way, I miss a lot of stuff.
I have the same result with and without (in Chrome) the Firefox extension.
Thank you!

Inappropriate?Ego, thanks for reporting this. My guess is, this is due to the 'velocity' of the feed. It's likely that Google Reader is not checking your channel feed fast enough, and hence stories are dropped of the list before Google Reader even gets around to them.
Can you please try this experiment: instead of using feeds.postrank.com url, try going directly against our API. For example:
http://api.postrank.com/v2/channel/{user_id}/{tag}?appkey=postrank.com&format=rss&num=30
Just insert your user id (it's the long alphanumeric string in your channel URL), and {tag} corresponds to the channel name. This feed will return the same content but give you 30 stories, instead of 10. In theory, if velocity is the problem, this should address it. -
Hello, thanks for your quick answer. I just tried the experiment you suggested, carefully following your instructions, but when I inserted the new url in Google Reader it said: "Your search did not match any feeds". I suppose I am doing something wrong.... -
That's odd, do you mind sharing the URL you're trying to view in Google Reader? If you want to keep it private, feel free to send me an email (ilya@aiderss.com). -
Inappropriate?Hello Ilya, I think I understood what happened: copying and pasting your url, I got a double http://api.postrank.com/v2/channel/ and I didn't notice this immediately... I corrected it and now Google Reader reads the url as a feed.
About the velocity, I will tell you asap how it works.
Thanks again! -
Inappropriate?Ilya, you've got mail.
