Does it work for a German blog?
I've joined PostRank a week ago to have my Blog (http://www.knecht-ruprecht.info) analysed. Probably not a big blog, though.
I'm really not sure if your metrics can be used. My PostRank feed mentions now 42 posts and it seems you could only calculate all or nothing, i.e. I have only a rating of 1.0 or 10.0. Both is not real, I believe. In any case, no article posted after I joined PostRank has a ranking higher than 1.0. It seems comments are not taken into account.
What am I doing wrong?

Inappropriate?Fortunately, you're not doing anything wrong. :) It definitely looks like something's amiss with the analysis. I've asked the developers to take a look at it and will let you know when we find out more. You definitely shouldn't have all 10s or all 1s.
The only difference having a German site would make is if most or all of your engagement metrics were from sites we don't analyze in our system. We're working on being less and less North American-centric, so if there are popular German social media sites that we're not monitoring, please let us know so we can add them. -
Hi Melanie,
thanks for coming back so quickly ;-)
Let's see what your dev team will say. Regarding your metrics sites for Germany: Could you provide one or two examples what sites you're evaluating right now in Germany, if any?
This gives me a better view what kind you're looking for and maybe I can provide some input.
Thanks! -
Inappropriate? You can see all the sites we currently analyze here: http://www.postrank.com/postrank -- I don't think there are any German-specific sites there yet. If not, it gives us lots of opportunity! :)

Well, Wikio is quite popular here: http://www.wikio.de/ -
Inappropriate?Great, thanks! I've submitted it to the list for investigation. :)

Inappropriate?Hi Melanie,
any progress on the 10/1 issue? -
Yes and no. It looks like we're going to need to do a bit of custom work to detect your comments. And we will be getting to that. However, we have a couple other projects to finish first, so it could be a week or two before it's done. I will let you know once it's fixed, though. -
Inappropriate?Melanie,
it's really appreciated - I'll be patient! -
Inappropriate?Well, can't hold my breath any longer. I was going to promote your service on my site (not too many readers I guess ;-)) but I stopped because I'm not yet convinced that it properly works for blogspot.com and/or German blogs.
What dou you think?

I'm impressed you've managed to hold it this long. :) I'm afraid my last comment still stands -- detecting your comments will require some custom work, but we're still working on finishing up projects ahead of it on our project schedule.
I do know that our widget works great on Blogspot blogs. They're the biggest demographic for our widget installs by a considerable margin. Re. German blogs, it goes back to what we discussed earlier -- it requires adding more localized sites (which, of course, requires that they have APIs so we can get at their data). We're always adding more, but it does take time. I believe most recently we've added Mexican, Brazilian, and Polish sites to the mix. -
Inappropriate?Hi Melanie,
seems to work very well now. Have you considered to put wikio.de into your engagement sources?
I’m thankful, works well!
-
We've had the suggestion of wikio.de before, and we'd love to be able to add it as a metrics source, but, like StumbleUpon (our other most frequently requested addition), they don't have a public API to enable us to get at their data.
