Feeds are not coming through to Greader
I set up my account a couple of days ago. The problem is that no Post Rank feeds are coming through, also several topics that I have created won't even allow me to subscribe to them. Google Reader gives me the following error message when I try and subscribe to some of my feeds: "Oops an error occurred try in a few seconds". When I try to bring up the RSS feed, via your site, I get the following error message "504 Gateway Time-out The server didn't respond in time." I have 123 subscriptions and 20 topics and yes it took a considerable amount of time to set up! Please help me out.

Inappropriate?Hi -- Yeah, there's a system issue the guys are working on that would cause this. It should be fixed shortly, and we'll let you know as soon as it's done. Sorry for the delays.
-
Inappropriate? Thanks. I look forward to being notified as to the issue being resolved.

Inappropriate?I am still getting this problem as of 27 april. Google Reader says:
Last updated:8:31 AM (4 hours ago) A fetching error was encountered.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I am still having issues as well. Oddly a couple of topic feeds, that allowed me to subscribe to them, have worked a couple of times, but other than that it is very clear that in large the same issues I originally reported still remain. Given that this service is free I am trying to do my best to be patient but it is incredible frustrating.

Inappropriate? This should be working now. Over the weekend there was a migration and a power outage that would have extended the issue.
If it's still not working for you, please let me know. -
In short it seems to partially work now. I managed to subscribe to all the feeds although, for the most part I could only do so via the page that has all my topics listed, but not from the topic pages themselves. In terms of posts coming through, there is hardly feeds actually bringing me any content and any that are active in someway certainly don't yield results daily. -
Inappropriate?I agree with donkeykong. It is sort of working but doesn't seem quite right. When I access google reader there seems to be exactly 10 new items in my postrank feed each time. Regardless of how long since I last looked, even if it is days. I have a lot of subscriptions and even with filtering on, I'd expect to see 10s or 100s of new posts in a day.
The fact it is always exactly 10 posts seems fishy to me, since I know that is the number you get when you fetch the feed directly. My guess is the feeds are only being updated at a large interval, and are limited to 10 each time, which means anything beyond the most recent 10 items that is posted since the last time postrank built the feed is being lost. -
This is a symptom of the problem I describe over here: http://www.getsatisfaction.com/aiders...
Because the personal topic feeds are likely to only be subscribed by a single individual, they aren't scheduled to update very often in googles backend, even less often the less you check the feed. Because the feeds generated by Postrank only contain 10 items, you'll lose everything but the last 10 items in the period between google's updates. Either Postrank needs to include more items in its feeds, or they need to work with Google to get google to check more often.
Feel free to go vote on my other question and hopefully this will get some attention. -
Inappropriate? It's baaaack. Since Ilya announced that the 10-posts-in-a-topic-feed issue shoudl be resolved, I've been subscribing to my topics in Google Reader, and I"m getting errors. When I attempt to fetch the feeds manually, I get:
error
Unable to retrieve channel data
I’m sad

Inappropriate? The showing-10-posts issue has been changed, and the no-posts-coming-to-Google-Reader issue has been fixed.
The company and 1 other person say
this solves the problem

Inappropriate? When you say the "showing-10-posts issue has been changed" I'm not sure what you mean by changed. It was only showing 10 posts per feed until a month or so ago, and then the number of posts per feeds was set to be more dynamic. Has it been changed again since then?
-
I was referring to the dynamic update. Just making a note to close off this issue. -
Inappropriate?Oh ok. Thanks!

Inappropriate?I for one can also confirm that the 10-post issue has been fixed which is really great but I can also tell you that I have a few topics that have several popular feeds that are not behaving as I would hope. One example is I have a topic that features 14 feeds, namely Engadget, Wired Gadgets, Geekologie, Gizmodo Australia, Boing Boing Gadgets, Personal Technology, Engadget HD, Download Squad, Popgadget, Cool Tools, Joystiq, Screen Play, PS3 Fanboy, Kotaku Australia. These are all very popular and yet the frequency that I get any posts is shocking. Yes I had a few come through recently on June 4 but the last lot before that was on May 18. I could give other examples of Topics that are behaving in much the same way but this is the one that bugs me the most. I am eager to hear comments and suggestions on this.
