Ok, we've found and fixed the issue that's displaying that your feed's not indexed, so that should be fine. The issue with content not appearing in the widget/website was not limited just to you, and was a larger system issue, which has also been fixed now.

Inappropriate?Hi -- I'm a bit confused as to the exact issue you're seeing. If your site wasn't indexed, you wouldn't have a PostRank page: http://www.postrank.com/feed/04531fd2...
And I am currently seeing a widget on your site in the left sidebar.
Could you give me a bit more information? -
Exactly. My site IS indexed, but the Top Posts widget keeps telling me it isn't and will not let me create a widget for my blog.
Sooooo...I actually took the code snippet for the widget, deleted the generic postrank feed that was there, put in my own feed, and copied it manually onto my blog. Now I have a widget. :D
Thanks for responding and trying to help though, Melanie. I do appreciate it. -
Inappropriate?Hmm, odd. Were you getting the red "This feed is not currently indexed. Click here to add it" message on the widget creation/customization page when you pasted your URL into the Website field?
What SHOULD happen if someone tries to create a widget for a site not already in our system is that it should automatically get added and the correct feed hash generated. But it sounds like it's failing that part of the process and auto-inserting our feed (which happens when someone forgets to add their URL to the Website field).
One of our devs is testing it now. (Looks like it IS working, but it's still throwing that message.)
Thanks for the heads up. And do let me know if you notice any other quirky widget behaviour. -
Yup! That's exactly what happens. I'd plug my URL in and it would red-flag it and say that my site was not indexed (when clearly, it has been). Luckily, I finally figured out how to get around it by pasting my feed in place of the generic postrank feed and then manually inserting the code on my site. :D
I now have a widget on my site (thankyou) whose post ranks aren't jiving with what I see on my own feed on my PostRank page. At this point, I'm okay with that, but thought I'd let you know since you asked about "any other quirky widget behavior." -
Okay, here's some "quirky widget behavior" for you — all was well UNTIL today when my blog was taking forrrrrrrrrrrevvvvvvvver and a day to load. Highly unusual. I noticed that it said "waiting for postrank" and when I scrolled down I saw that the widget was just stuck and not loading anything at all. Refreshed the page and the same thing happened. So, I jumped over to my PostRank page and lo and behold – nuthin'! Blank. No feed whatsoever.
I tried to see if I could reload the widget on my site, but as before, when I plug my URL into the widget creator, I'm told that my site is NOT indexed.
Here we go again..........(oh, and I deleted the widget from my site. no problem loading now.) -
The feed is definitely indexed, and I couldn't get other feeds to throw the same message (though I did get it on the widget page with your URL). Still trying to figure out where that error's coming from.
When you'd installed the widget, before this issue, you had pasted in the feed hash manually from here, right? http://www.postrank.com/feed/04531fd2...
And you hadn't changed anything until this weekend? (We did have a brief technical issue at one point, but I'm told it shouldn't have affected that part of the system.) -
Yup. Pasted in my feed hash manually from there. Did it again very late last night, when I checked my PostRank page and noticed that my feed had suddenly reappeared with all of my posts. So, the widget's back on my site now and all seems to be "normal" today.
Noticed a number of comments on the main message board that widgets were not working on Wordpress and Typepad blogs. I'm on Blogger. First time it ever just stopped showing any feed at all was yesterday as far as I know. But why it keeps insisting that I'm not indexed is beyond me. -
Inappropriate? There are some differences in how widget calculations work compared to postrank.com. More on that here: http://blog.postrank.com/2009/01/07/p...
Do you mean there are posts on your PostRank.com page that are ranked highly that you think should be appearing in the widget, but don't?

Thanks, Melanie. That article explained the differences in postrank I see between my page and my blog. -
