Mark all as read in PR filtered items..
Filtering to Great.. and then clicking 'Mark all as Read', should only mark those great items as read.. not all unread items (that are best, good etc..).

So the problem with this one is that we'll only ever be able to make 50% of the people happy, because the other request/expectation we get is that clicking "Mark all as read" will mark ALL as read, not just the filtered items...
If we ever get a clear majority requesting one option, we'll revisit it.
I’m undecided

Then.. couldn't there be 2 options: 1st is 'Mark ALL as read'. 2nd is 'Only mark filtered options as read'. -
Certainly possible. We need to remain cognizant of making the interface too cluttered or clunky, though, too. In any case, I suspect this debate is far from over. :) -
Inappropriate?Hello, I was just about to post this issue as a problem I just experienced. I expect only the filtered results to be marked as read. Posts not shown because of the filter should still be "new/unread."
If someone wants to mark "all" (e.g.. including posts that aren't "great"), he/she can and should set the filter to "All" then execute the "Mark all as read."
I’m hoping logic will prevail

Inappropriate?I too am looking for this feature to be incorporated.
Melaine, you need not add any more options. Clicking on 'Mark All as Read' should just do that to the displayed posts be it All, Good, Great, Best.

Well, as the system currently works, the sub-filtering-level posts that are hidden get automatically marked as read when you scroll past them, so currently using Mark As Read will just also mark the visible (filtered) items as read, which sound like what you're requesting.
Additionally, it would require us to hijack the Mark As Read button, which would probably not make us very popular with everyone who wants to use the PostRank extension but still wants it to work as it's currently intended to. -
Melaine, gotcha! But looking at the filtering again, I see that AideRSS uses culmulative ranking i.e. Good posts include posts that are marked Best and Great. Wouldn't it be better if you specify a rank to filter them? For e.g. 3.1 - 4.9 = Good, 5 - 7 = Best, and > 7 = Great. Currently (my guess), it seems that > 4 = Good, > 5 = Best, and > 7 = Great. So if I want to mark all Good posts as read while keeping Best and Great posts unread, I can't do that. -
You can filtering by numerical value - Ctrl Z to change the filtering drop-down to a text box (or back again). The rankings aren't quite as simplified as that, but that's essentially how it works.
I get what you mean re. separating the sub-filtering-level posts for being marked as read without including the higher filtering levels -- again, there's the problem of hijacking the Mark As Read button, but certainly something to try and figure out for a future iteration. -
The toggling feature between levels and numeric values is convenient but then again, when I enter 4 it shows me posts >= 4. I wish we could specify a range (3-5) or even something like < 4 or >6. I don't think that would hijack the Mark as Read button. It is something I've been suggesting to Google for months (including 'Mark everything older than 1/4/7 days as Read) . But I would prefer AideRSS filtering since I wouldn't lose significantly imp.posts even if they are more than a week old. -
Inappropriate?Mark me down as another interested in this functionality. The prime reason I have for the need: if I'm only looking at the Great posts in a folder, and I mark all as read, recent posts in that same folder that haven't had a chance to receive "engagement" and boost their postrank will never be seen by me. If I could mark just those displayed by the filter as read, recent posts will have a chance at getting enough postrank to get my attention.
