Native characters in tags don't work
Native characters in tags are allowed, but don't work. It's allowed to tag a feed "Űr", under the channels I can see it, but the RSS doesn't work, and I have to change the URL to "Ur" to make it work.
The underscore _ character is also allowed but the tag contains it falls apart, that is "Ur_2" becomes to "Ur" and "2", but not always.

Hi KGyST,
We should completely support international characters in the feed URLs now.
Related to the underscore problem, I can't seem to reproduce the bug. If it pops up again for you, could you let us know?
Thanks.

Inappropriate?KGyST, thank you for reporting this.
The underscore behavior definitely sounds like a bug and we're looking into it. The encoding in the URL might a be trickier one, we'll keep you posted on our progress there. -
Inappropriate?Hi,
thanks for Your response and sorry for not being clear.
I read RSSes that contain tags in their sourcecode (blogs' posts can be tagged), that is, there are <item> </item> sections and within them there are <title>Title</title><category>category1</category><category>category2</category> etc. sub-sections. In the PostRanked feed the <title> is there (certainly) and the <category> tags diminish.
I'm seeking a solution where I can filter to certain tags and to Postrank, too. (Things tagged to be interest me more should be come with lower PostRank to read them, but important, PostRank=10 messages with an unimportant tag are also interesting enough to read them)
I tried to give the AideRSS the filtered feeds to the tags, but it starts a different processing of the "new" feed
This is an example RSS:
http://webisztan.blog.hu/rss2
and one filtered for one tag from the same source
http://webisztan.blog.hu/rss2/tags/rss</category></title>
I’m thankful

Ahh, I see. That's a very interesting use case.
As of today what you are trying to do unfortunately will not work through postrank.com. Having said that, we are working towards resolving the first step that you've highlighted: when the original RSS feed carries <category> tags, we will soon pass that through.
However, you're also trying to filter by tag, which is a slightly different use of our tagging system. Currently, the way content 'channels' work is by tagging an entire feed, instead of a specific story.
One way to address this problem is to create multiple subscriptions to the same feed and create custom keyword filters for each, where each filter is essentially a tag. </category> -
Inappropriate? These underscore (_) bugs are quite nasty, I made a space_2 and some similar tag and it works well now. Possibly, the native chars made the problems.
Let me suggest something different thing, I don't want to open a new discussion for it.
It's a great idea to tag/channel the feeds, but it's very difficult to use this feature. I think there are two main problems:
1. In the feeds view I cannot select a tag to show it's feeds (for editing). I have 150 feeds, and if I wanted to change one tag's tag names (because the _ problem) I couldn't watch only the feeds tagged with a tag (to change all feeds' tags that were tagged with Ur_2), I had to browse through the 150 feeds.
2. It would be a nice idea to allow one feed's posts items to be tagged differently depending on their postrank. That is, an item of a feed ranked 10 would go to a channel "Space_interesting", an 5.0 ranked to the channel "Space_less_interesting", and an 1.0 ranked to be filtered out. I's a bit difficult to realize, although.
I’m thankful

KGySt, good suggestions.
Quick tip for (1): you can select all feeds tagged with 'tagx', by clicking on the tag itself. However, you're right, we don't have bulk tag edit capabilities.
2. Actually you can setup this up manually without too much trouble. Simply create multiple subscriptions for the same feed, where each subscription has a different postrank filter. Then, you can tag each feed as tag_best, and get only the best stories. -

Inappropriate?Hi,
I have a fantastic tag that brings both problem:
Űr_2 (=Space_2 in Hungarian)
It yet drops an error when I click on it'feed in channels (although a different one, Detected error: HTTP code 505), and after being at the channels and return to the feeds, Űr_2 becomes Űr 2 (but in the same feed space_2 tag remains OK)
And another, small problem: after editing tags, the whole window somehow looses focus, and I cannot go up or down with PgUp, PgDown, Home, End buttons. Right after loading they work, just after an edit become bad.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Hi KGyST,
There were some really weird bugs behind that underscore issue, but we've got them ironed out now, and your Űr_2 tag should stay as Űr_2. Spaces are not allowed in tags (they're separators), so you shouldn't run into that 505 error anymore either. We've also fixed the PgUp/PgDown issue you mentioned.
Thanks for the feedback!
