No new items in Google Reader
I added http://feeds.postrank.com/27bced44f02... as a feed to Google Reader but it never shows any "new" items. When I go to that feed, the item titles are "bold" indicating unread items! Very strange.

I'm told this issue has come up before, and it's actually a Google cache problem (which means we can't fix it).
However, there is a bit of a workaround. You can add a random variable to the end of the feed, which enables it to bypass the cache.
So, for example, if the feed has a question mark (?) in the URL already, e.g. http://feeds.postrank.com/0dd311d3d8b...
then add &foo=546234 (or any random number) to the end of the URL.
If there is no question mark (?) in the URL, then add ?r=546234 to the end of the URL.

Inappropriate? So do you mean that a) it's never added any new items other than the ones that showed up when you first subscribed, and b) even if you've read items, they still show up bold as unread?
-
Inappropriate?I think it is (b) except the items show up as bold/unread only when I visit that subscription. My Reader is setup to show only subscriptions with Unread items. Nothing ever shows up in this PostRank feed until I visit that folder. See http://screencast.com/t/6wBQjEPxJW It is really weird. Is this a Google Reader bug?

Inappropriate?I tried that (added &foo=1234 to the feed url) but it doesn't seem to help. Reader still doesn't notify me of new items in the feed until I actually visit the feed (which defeats the purpose)
Any other ideas?

Inappropriate? One more thing...when I go to http://feedvalidator.org and put in the PostRank feed URL, it comes up as "Not Valid"

I am sure other people have this issue too.

Inappropriate?I have had very bad luck with my postrank feeds and google reader. I've never been able to access them reliably. Some feeds never show new items at all. At this point, I've given up on using feeds direct from Postrank and was using the Google Reader extension to at least give me some of the Postrank benefits, but as that doesn't appear to be working with Firefox 3.5, I currently don't have any access to Postrank goodness through Google Reader at all.
-
Inappropriate?That's really a bummer.
Can someone from AideRSS chime in here? Google Reader is one of the most popular RSS readers out there, is there a way PostRank feeds can work reliably with it? Please!

Inappropriate? We've added the issue to the backlog to take a look when we can, but we've looked at this stuff before and not had much luck. Will let you know if we find anything we can change on our end.
