Problems problems ... will they finish? Last reply on June 30, 2008 07:58.

Official air client doesn't work ... I know there is Pownce Monkey but I don't like it, is that the official client? Well ... let it do its job!

Another thing ... please delete for me this stupid non existent friendship request ...

I can't understand why these problems takes so long ... you develop your API and you develop official client ... it's so difficult to modifiy them together?

I really like pownce but it must work ... alse it's unuseful!

2 hour delay from Air app to Web Last reply on May 24, 2008 08:23.

Is a 2 hour delay between the Air app and the Web normal? I've been adding Messages for a couple of hours, with no error messages, but they have yet to appear on the web.

The Pownce AIR app won't open links in my Flock Browser Last reply on May 02, 2008 19:19.

I'm using Flock as my default browser. Whenever I click a link in the Pownce Desktop App this error message pops up,

"A copy of Flock is already open. Only one copy of Flock can be open at a time."

If I switch the default browser to Safari ti works fine. How can I fix this so I can use Pownce Desktop with Flock?

Desktop App (1.03, Vista 32bit) does not convert line breaks for display on Pownce website Last reply on April 24, 2008 19:15.

I think this problem might have been mentioned some time ago, even though I can't seem to find it here. All line breaks of the messages written in the Pownce desktop app are displayed correctly in the same, but simply ignored when being displayed on the website.

As I tend to write longer entries now and then and would prefer some structure this bug really bothers me. I most certainly do not know enough about these things to really make any assumptions, but I get the feeling that this might not be too difficult to fix. Am I totally wrong?

Thanks in advance for Your help and I hope to be able to make it to the NextWeb Conference in Amsterdam next month!

    Pownce AIR app won't sign-in Last reply on March 25, 2008 05:05.

The latest AIR and Pownce air app (1.02) were working fine for a while, but now I can't sign in - it just sits there saying "Signing In", but nothing happens. I downloaded/installed the Pownce app again, but that was no help. I trashed the Pownce prefs, and had to re-enter my signin details, but that was no help. Other AIR apps are running fine.

Have repaired permissions etc a few times.

Can't remember when exactly the problem started, but the only real change to my system lately has been the latest Leopard update (to 10.5.2).

    Any suggestions for troubleshooting?

Pownce AIR App Possible Bugs & Weirdness?

Some weirdness I've noticed with the Pownce AIR app on my macbook:

If there is a scrollable visible window behind the app - i.e. a browser window or the itunes library - when scrolling with the track pad through the pownce app, whatever is running in the back will scroll up and down as well.

When scrolling UP with the trackpad, the scroll often gets stuck or stops multiple times on the way up. I think this has to do with it 'catching' on some Pownce updates that appear with a hard return or two of extra space in the update - so its trying to scroll up the app and biting on the individual updates to scroll through them.
Maybe a change to the way in which the app displays or formats the text will fix this? Dunno.
This is not a problem when scrolling down OR if you scroll up quickly (a hard push with two fingers to get to the top). Also, using the up/down buttons or the scroll bar on the app does not cause any problems.

A single tap of the trackpad to click on the minimize button does not shrink the app; instead the app will wait for the next tap or click anywhere in the window and from that input shrink to the dock. Perhaps related - where on the app you place this second click will determine the rough screen coords at which the window maximizes which clicked from the dock

If you tab away from the app after applying the single click and tab back in, the app is hidden from view on screen and can be recalled by using any display hotkey/hotcorners you have set up. Clicking on the dock icon will not restore it in this state.

Single trackpad tapping the close app button causes different problems:
Sometimes a single click will result in the app disappearing from screen but remaining open in the dock, dropping to the dock and quitting the app from there then quits the app appropriately.
At other times the single click will clear the app from screen but quitting from the dock will not be effective and a force quit is required.
And finally, sometimes the single click works perfectly and pownce takes a nap.

These trackpad-tap related issues do not occur if you single click using the trackpad button itself

I have yet to try this on the windows app via my bootcamp slice or on my PC.

How much of this is the AIR infrastructure and how much is the app, I obviously can't say, also you guys might be all over this stuff, but I figured if Pownce is gonna grow its gotta work - and I like Pownce - so hopefully this isn't late-to-the-party news and it'll help

The Pownce AIR Client won't launch since new updates were added. Last reply on September 28, 2007 09:13.

It may be a coincedence but my client, even after reinstall refuses to launch properly since the new features were added to Pownce recently.

It appears on the taskbar and in the task manager as running, yet nothing happens visually.

I have even made an exception in Windows firewall to no avail.

I am on XP Home SP2

Uploading file using desktop client (AIR) app stuck on "Processing..." Last reply on November 28, 2007 13:12.

AIR app not loading on Mac Last reply on December 30, 2007 13:48.

I have latest AIR installed, downloaded Pownce and when I enter in my user/pass the app just sits here.

Interestingly enough, every time I attempt to log into Pownce.com, I have to reset my password in order to log in. Could the two issues be related?

I run many AIR apps, this is the first time I've had a problem. Can someone check my login and make sure that works?

Upload issue with desktp client Last reply on December 14, 2007 01:09.

For some reason when I browse to a file for upload in the desktop client, it doesn't appear in the dialog box after selection. Then when I try to upload it acts as though I never selected a file. This issue started with the latest build.

For some reason I also get a "stop script" error when uploading with Firefox. The error happens at the end up the upload, I hit stop, and everything goes through fine. Not sure if they're related.

Abusive feedback from AIR devs! RED ALERT! Last reply on August 18, 2007 05:14.

    Hey dude-izens!

Bilano here. I'm writing this forum in regarding a certain problem I've been having with the AIR thinger, I guess.

So I am the IT director at [LARGE US BANK] and we have peeps here that have been runnin some crazy app that was made by these Frenchmen called "POWNCE". At first I thought it was some hacker thing because they spelling things with a "p" all the crazy time and that sucks (like when we got hacked our bank website said "PWNED YOU JACKS!" all over it and had links to some free Tibet thing site and then the FDIC came and had to pay our CEO some hush money, so naturally I thought it was them hackers infiltration again).

Anyway so then I realized that it was just some app to send dirty pictures from some Jappan site to each other with and that's okay in my book! LOLOLLLOLOL! But then I started getting them complaints rolling into my helpdesk mailbox so much that I just started forwarding the help desk mail to this idiot I hired to help me with fixing my impact printers in the basement. I had him print all them mails out and that crazy kid tried to make origasmi hats out of them and was playing sailor in the old boiler room while singin "POWNCE ON IT!!! POWNCE ON IT!! STRAIT FROM WALDORF Maryland BABAY!!!" BUT I DIGRESS! These powncn creeps are busy trying to take over the googles and replace it!

So their complains was that they click that little minimizer icon and it just zippers down into the trask bar where it sits and stares at you like an donkey. I read on them wiki for Pwncer that they think this is because AIRE can't do it but I think that's bogus because this is Adober we're talkin about here! But those clowns don't like it like that, so I am here today!

I sent an email to a head AIR developer (the AIR HEAD, LOLSLSS!)!! and I askied him about this dumb thing and if Abode with all of their moneys and time will be fixing this blaring overlooked dumb thing. I was garishly polite (just like I am right here today to you all folks) and here is what that jerky told me in response to all of my helpful questioning:

"The end user doesn't know what it wants. It just sits there thinking about how to better pirate our software. I am sick and tired of their whining about things that are completely of their control. Again, the end user does not know what it wants! The user has to be told want they want. And we are the ones to tell them. Those who can't do, complain. Java said they were going to bring apps to the desktop, but they fell on their faces because McNealy is a screw up that had to be kicked out and replaced by pony-tail boy. And still the best they can come up with is open-sourcing it? Please! We are delivering on the promise of universal applications across operating systems, _and_ we are doing it with a toolset easier to use then Visual Basic! Yet these little twerps want to front about a minimize button? What sort of life must these people live that gives them the feeling that this is owed to them? They will take what we give and like it, and come back asking for seconds. Here's your forty-acres and a mule, world, so live with it! Now step off!"

When I read this, I totally dropped my burrito on my mouse and had to spent the rest of this morning cleaning beans from my buttons and that was a sticky challenege and not unlike what that guy from Dirty Jobs did when he got stuck by that stingray in the gut.

This person, whom I will affectionately refer to from now on only as Theo "The" Rat (LOLSS because he is like that Theo boyhacker genius from Canada who makes OpenBSD which AIR DOES NOT SUPPORT incidentally! LOLOLSLSLSSS!!!! and his systrace got pwnced too!!! blahahahd). Anyway, Theor said this to me and I was beside myself as I already said. And my fingers are still stickied up!

So I come to you all, the communisty, to both point out the egregious disrespect for the general public (and me in particular) and also to shed light on this annoying issue of providence. I think I am not the only one who asks: WHAT IS UP WITH THIS?

P.S.: Check my bloglog <http://www.bilano.biz> for my stuffs!!!

I would love to play music in the client application Last reply on August 14, 2007 05:52.

I love the ability to listen to music on the web site from someones entry through flash. Since air is an adobe application maker, are you guys planning on a way to play music on the pownce client application without loading another application or browser?

It is a little frustrating that the web site is often way more useful than the client application.

Can the AIR app open a link in a tab? Last reply on August 11, 2007 17:31.

I have both Firefox and Safari set to open incoming links into a new tab, not a big fan of multiple windows.

From the AIR app, links always spawn a new browser window. Even when Firefox isn't yet launched, AIR will actually open TWO windows.
