Pownce doesn't render special HTML characters correctly (like &'s and ...'s and %'s and etc)
I posted via the AIR app, but it seems to be a problem all the way through Pownce online.
I have two Pownce accounts. I am only able to login to one of them with the AIR app. When I try and login as the second user, I am shown the notes of my first userID. I have Remember Me Remember Password both unchecked. This problem did not exist with the previous release of the AIR app.
I primarily use Pownce Desktop/Adobe Air to send files (non-pro). The max file size used to be 10 mb, then jumped to 100 mb, and has been at 0 for the last couple of months. What's up?
on the pownce program I can't post things. It says that it can't refresh and wont let me reply to anything at all. When i go to post it says that i have to select a recipient but there are no recipients on my scroll bar.
While the new Pownce desktop app works pretty well all in all, I've recently noticed the following problem:
I try to send a message, pressing the "Post it!" button, which then greys out but the screen does not change. I then have to press cancel and it at least appears that the message sent has been lost.
From then on, depending on how Pownce feels, one of the following things can happen:
1. The message is gone for good.
2. I post the message again and suddenly the first one is there as well making it look as if I posted the same message twice.
3. Posting any message via the desktop client always fails but the website works. Sometimes the lost ones sent via the desktop app reappear, sometimes they don't.
4. Posting a message does not work at all, instead when trying via the website i get the following error message at the top (like right now):
"(1062, "Duplicate entry '2824098' for key 1")"
=> no matter whether I post the same content again or something else!
I have adobe air 1.0 installed. i tried downloading pownce desktop 2.0 and my mac automatically unzips it into a folder instead of using air to install it. is there a workaround or am I just SOL. I also tried installing air 3 beta. Same results.
Official air client doesn't work ... I know there is Pownce Monkey but I don't like it, is that the official client? Well ... let it do its job!
Another thing ... please delete for me this stupid non existent friendship request ...
I can't understand why these problems takes so long ... you develop your API and you develop official client ... it's so difficult to modifiy them together?
I really like pownce but it must work ... alse it's unuseful!
Is a 2 hour delay between the Air app and the Web normal? I've been adding Messages for a couple of hours, with no error messages, but they have yet to appear on the web.
Some weirdness I've noticed with the Pownce AIR app on my macbook:
If there is a scrollable visible window behind the app - i.e. a browser window or the itunes library - when scrolling with the track pad through the pownce app, whatever is running in the back will scroll up and down as well.
When scrolling UP with the trackpad, the scroll often gets stuck or stops multiple times on the way up. I think this has to do with it 'catching' on some Pownce updates that appear with a hard return or two of extra space in the update - so its trying to scroll up the app and biting on the individual updates to scroll through them.
Maybe a change to the way in which the app displays or formats the text will fix this? Dunno.
This is not a problem when scrolling down OR if you scroll up quickly (a hard push with two fingers to get to the top). Also, using the up/down buttons or the scroll bar on the app does not cause any problems.
A single tap of the trackpad to click on the minimize button does not shrink the app; instead the app will wait for the next tap or click anywhere in the window and from that input shrink to the dock. Perhaps related - where on the app you place this second click will determine the rough screen coords at which the window maximizes which clicked from the dock
If you tab away from the app after applying the single click and tab back in, the app is hidden from view on screen and can be recalled by using any display hotkey/hotcorners you have set up. Clicking on the dock icon will not restore it in this state.
Single trackpad tapping the close app button causes different problems:
Sometimes a single click will result in the app disappearing from screen but remaining open in the dock, dropping to the dock and quitting the app from there then quits the app appropriately.
At other times the single click will clear the app from screen but quitting from the dock will not be effective and a force quit is required.
And finally, sometimes the single click works perfectly and pownce takes a nap.
These trackpad-tap related issues do not occur if you single click using the trackpad button itself
I have yet to try this on the windows app via my bootcamp slice or on my PC.
How much of this is the AIR infrastructure and how much is the app, I obviously can't say, also you guys might be all over this stuff, but I figured if Pownce is gonna grow its gotta work - and I like Pownce - so hopefully this isn't late-to-the-party news and it'll help
I think this problem might have been mentioned some time ago, even though I can't seem to find it here. All line breaks of the messages written in the Pownce desktop app are displayed correctly in the same, but simply ignored when being displayed on the website.
As I tend to write longer entries now and then and would prefer some structure this bug really bothers me. I most certainly do not know enough about these things to really make any assumptions, but I get the feeling that this might not be too difficult to fix. Am I totally wrong?
Thanks in advance for Your help and I hope to be able to make it to the NextWeb Conference in Amsterdam next month!
The latest AIR and Pownce air app (1.02) were working fine for a while, but now I can't sign in - it just sits there saying "Signing In", but nothing happens. I downloaded/installed the Pownce app again, but that was no help. I trashed the Pownce prefs, and had to re-enter my signin details, but that was no help. Other AIR apps are running fine.
Have repaired permissions etc a few times.
Can't remember when exactly the problem started, but the only real change to my system lately has been the latest Leopard update (to 10.5.2).
I just installed 1.02 of the Pownce client for Windows and I can't reply to other folks' Pownces. It says, "Whoops, you need to select a recipient." But, alas, I am replying.
Has anyone else seen this? Do you have a suggestion on how to resolve?
Well, it's just the same game we played when beta 2 of AIR came out - when I try to install it, I get the message telling me that this app (Pownce desktop client) is not compatible with the new version of AIR.
I am trying to upload a 90 MB file using the Pownce desktop Adobe AIR client. The file seems to upload (it goes from 0% to 100%) but then it gets stuck on "Processing..." I've tried multiple times, but get the same results.
Installation Error:
