I have adobe air 1.0 installed. i tried downloading pownce desktop 2.0 and my mac automatically unzips it into a folder instead of using air to install it. is there a workaround or am I just SOL. I also tried installing air 3 beta. Same results.
While the new Pownce desktop app works pretty well all in all, I've recently noticed the following problem:
I try to send a message, pressing the "Post it!" button, which then greys out but the screen does not change. I then have to press cancel and it at least appears that the message sent has been lost.
From then on, depending on how Pownce feels, one of the following things can happen:
1. The message is gone for good.
2. I post the message again and suddenly the first one is there as well making it look as if I posted the same message twice.
3. Posting any message via the desktop client always fails but the website works. Sometimes the lost ones sent via the desktop app reappear, sometimes they don't.
4. Posting a message does not work at all, instead when trying via the website i get the following error message at the top (like right now):
"(1062, "Duplicate entry '2824098' for key 1")"
=> no matter whether I post the same content again or something else!
every time i open the desktop client i am first met by the log in screen, all my log in info is saved and all i have to do is click one button to log in but it's still a slight nuisance. is it possible to be automatically logged in? i've noticed a lot of flash applications i use on the web don't log in automatically so i guess it may be a limitation of flash. just a thought.
When I sign into the Pownce desktop app, none of my posts display; it's empty. It was working fine a few days ago, but now nothing displays. Refreshing, signing in/out, reinstalling all do not have any effect.
All of my posts are visible when logged into the website, but no longer translate over to the desktop app. Do they automatically get removed from the desktop app after a certain amount of time?
I using WinXP SP2 with the latest release version of AIR.
Happens with submitted links as well as when clicking on a user for example. Any way to change this? And is it the Pownce desktop client or the AIR environment choosing the browser?
I think it would be cool if the Pownce app gave an option for desktop notification popups that showed the text of the note in the popup. Example would be like the equiv. feature used in the program Snitter
( http://snook.ca/snitter/ ) for tweets , which also runs on Adobe AIR.
