When I change the audio file downloads setting at http://pownce.com/settings/preferences/ this should also affect files posted in the past.

I realise this sounds similar to http://getsatisfaction.com/pownce/top... but it does not have the same difficulties in the implementation.

Let me try to explain with an example: Say I change the setting from "everybody" to "friends only". If someone was able to download the file in the past, good for them! But I don't want any new downloads to happen.

There are no implications for privacy settings or replies. When a file was posted to the public, everyone can still stream and reply.

If you really want to provide the option to choose the download setting on a file by file basis, this should be put in the file upload dialogue, and not somewhere hidden on the settings page. (Or at least clearly state on the settings page that changing the option does not affect notes posted in the past.)
