Anil Dash of Six Apart also made the following statement in reply to a blog post echoing your concerns:
"I know the pace of the exports being sent out has picked up just a few hours ago, and don’t worry, every person that requested an export will get their data; Pownce won’t shut down without making sure of that."
The full comment can be seen here:

Inappropriate?thanks James. that's all good. i'm just hoping to find someone who has actually received an export, and maybe learn some about the format of it. Maybe the Powncers can upload an example of what one looks like for those of us who want to know the format of the XML we will receive.
I’m like a bird, I'll only fly away

Inappropriate? You *should* receive your export file by Thursday if you haven't already, FYI.

Inappropriate? Thanks Ariel. Good to know. It's all good. I was just hoping someone could post an example of the XML so that we could examine it. We're just kinda concerned nerds like that. When you have less than a week, it seems like every day counts, but nobody really seems as concerned about it as me, so I'll wait until Thursday.
(But if you feel like posting an example before then, please don't let this comment stop you.)
I’m a concerned nerd

Inappropriate?Ajit, once your export is generated you'll be able to download all the notes you've sent (with comments) and all the notes in your inbox (with comments) in "Pownce XML" format (the same format we use to return notes via the API, documented at http://pownce.pbwiki.com/API%20Docume...). You'll also be able to download all sent notes with comments as an MTIF file (non-public notes will be stored as draft posts). In addition, there are three ATOM feeds: public sent notes, sent notes (with the Six Apart's privacy extension), and comments. Finally, we're generating a static FOAF file with your relationship data.
Hope that helps! -
Inappropriate?word. 'preciate ya, Mike. that helps a lot. :)
i do have one more question if you don't mind. what happens to all our files/filez? are you guys keeping those online so that if we ever import into another program such as Vox, those will still work? or would you be sending those to us as well and Vox accounts for the fact that we will be uploading them? one of the other posts *suggested* that they will be sent to us, but to be honest i'm not sure how that would work.
oh well, i don't have to know exactly how it all works. i'm just a squirrel tryin' to get a nut.
I’m all, like, aight.

Inappropriate?ok so i got the email saying it's done. and i go to the link: it says it's still processing ? help?

Inappropriate?Yey, got my export file. Though what about the files? Is your S3 account going to stay active so we can pull them off of there?
I'd be really sad if those went away :(
I’m expecting the worst

Inappropriate?Six Apart has agreed to keep our S3 bucket up and running for at least a year. Public files have been moved over to a public S3 bucket (at http://media.pownce.com) and export files reference the copies stored in that public bucket. Private files will remain in Pownce's private S3 bucket, and your export contains private URLs generated to access those files for one year.
@djp, sorry for the delay with your export - I investigated a bit more and it looks like your inbox is extremely large and it was causing our export script to crash. I'll go ahead and generate the rest of the export files for you (you should receive another email) and will try to make some improvements to our export script in order to create an export of your inbox as well.
